First of all lets just acknowledge that Sitcoms are pointless, its made just for a short round of entertainment thats why I'm not too critical on them. I'm currently staying at my mom's house for a while and she's the one the rents videos. I was surprise to see she rented The Best Selling Secret. I never started watching it, I needed a little break after Welcome To The House.
To my surprise The Best Selling Secret was just what I need. A bit of lite humor with an interesting enough plot. Welcome To The House heavily focused on what was going on at home, on the other hand BSS focuses more on the workplace. I think TVB took the idea of The Office and ran with it. The characters have changed, and the of course its been given the whole TVB treatment.
Esther Kwan is strong enough to carry the entire female cast, but the Male leads is kinda lacking. I have no know idea who TVB has that is currently not filming anything that can add to the male cast. Anyways, it would be too late, because there is only about 40 episodes left of this sitcom. It most likely wont be renewed for another 120 episodes.
Catherine Tsang is the producer of this series. I think she did a really good job. I dont know how she juggles everything. She's one of TVB's top exucutives along with Stephen Chan, Virginia Lok, & Tommy Leung. On top of that she's also a manager, for those who dont know Catherine is Kevin Cheng's manager. I think TVB wanted her to take charge of this sitcom so she decided to be the producer too inorder to take full control. |
