EXTREMELY EXTREMELY BITTER SWEET Time To be a TVB Fan

How Sad is this? 2008 is going out with "dot dot dot" instead of an exclamation mark. I said a long long long time ago this terrible economy will eventually catch up to TVB and Hong Kong Entertainment. It's just so sad because Ratings are at their lowest in years yet the quality of the series are very good.

The Gem of Life is such an interesting series in my opinion. All the characters are unique and so developed. The storyline is so interesting. The actors are AMAZING. Ada Choi really does give a breakthrough performance as Jessica. Gigi Lai is so angelic and sweet as Constance, her last TV Character she will portray. Maggie Shiu as Sophia, I just love, such a strong woman. Linda Chung is also very interesting as Elise, she does a great job as a bratty and cunning heiress. The men are also very good too. Moses Chan, Bowie Lam, Wong Hei, John Chiang, Eddie Kwan, and Bosco Wong are all very good in the Gem of Life. The whole series gives access to the rich life, the poor life, and even life in between. I JUST LOVE IT! Yet the ratings are low.... SIGH...

When Easterly Showers Fall on the Sunny West is TVB's longest title that I can remember. I thought this series would be boring nostalgic period drama. It is not!! It's so interesting to watch. The many twists and turns... I just love how the series is about human emotion, love, and kindship during the era. The filming locations are also very beautiful. The actors in the series did a great job. I love Charmaine and Liza in this series. Joe Ma and Raymond Wong also did a great job.

Off Pedder debuted as TVB's new sitcom. Though it's not as good as The Best Selling Secret or Virtues of Harmony it is still very good. I'm just glad its nothing like Welcome to the House which was unbearable after 10 episodes...

On a side note, The Four is also another very good series which I enjoyed after watching the Last One Standing. I'm also watching Legend of the Condor Hero 2008. I think series take me away from this very scary economy which will probably be the economy I will be working in when I graduate. It also helps with school and stress.

P.S. I'm Starting To Get Annoyed with all these TVB Actors leaving and starting music careers instead. I think they should perfect their chops and be the part of good actor instead of having their heart somewhere else. I makes me think they dont really want to TV actors and they are using the fans that through it as a stepping stone.

My TVB 41st Anniversary Award Ceremony Overview & Critique

It was an overall good show. It would have been better if it wasn't all awards. A short singing performance or something along that line would have been nice. When I saw just the Winner's list I thought there wasn't surprises but there was quite a few.

Myolie Wu Winning Most Fashionable: She went in a Tuxedo. From a distance she did actually look like a man. I think she was inspired by Heidi Klum who wore a Tuxedo during the Emmy's. Myolie's Fashion is only fairly good in my book. I thought there other worthy winners.

Surprise! Francis Ng was at the show!! He's like the Biggest TVB Hater! Just this year he came on the radio with Sandra Ng and trashed TVB. He said their quality has gone down and the newcomers can't act. I was shocked to see him, I dont why, probably as as apology for what happened. He still acted like a doucebag on stage in my opinion. Athena Chu, still so pretty. She played Wong Yung in Legend of the Condor Hero 1996 & Michelle Yim played Wong Yung in Legend of the Condor Hero 1976. It was pretty interesting to see them both in the same room.

Wong Cho Lam Wins Most Improved: There were plenty of other nominees that were deserving of this award like Johnson Lee, and Derek Kwok. I think he is a good actor but his win was somewhat of an upset in my opinion. Plus, he wasn't very humble. His whole reading his acceptance really fast was just trying way too hard. He was trying to be like Kenneth Ma two years ago who was hilarious. It wasn't that funny and only a few people in the crowd thought it was funny. It was almost like "HaHa, Yay, I win, This Is Stupid So Lets Try To This Funny Skit..."

Nancy Wu Wins Most Improved: Well deserved win. She cried and showed how thankful she was to win and showed respect to the other nominees unlike Wong Cho Lam.

Tavia Yeung wins Best Supporting Actress: I thought it was pretty cool that Best Supporting of HK Cinema Anthony Wong presented Tavia with the Best Supporting Actress Award. She truly deserved it. Her acknowledgement of Lee Heung Kam was also very sweet.

Wayne Lai wins Best Supporting Actor: Best Supporting Actress of HK Cinema Karena Lam presented him with this award. He got a huge crowd reaction. He really deserves it.

Raymond Lam winning the TVB.COM & Favorite Male Character Award: He looked the least happy out of all the winners. A Best Actor should know how to look happy even though his chances of winning are getting slimmer. The disappointment in his eyes made it seem like he was unappreciative. They should have gave one of his award to someone else who would have appreciate it.

Havent seen Dicky Cheung in forver. His presentation speech was a little weird to me though...

Lee Sze Kei Winning Favorite Female Character: No big surprise, I think everyone expected her to win.

Moonlight Resonance Win Best Drama: An Entourage of Stars floods the stage like last year with HOG. Once again, no big surprise.

Michelle Wins Best Actress: I knew she was going to win. A well deserved win & a touching acceptance speech.

The BIGGEST SURPRISE of the Night was the TOP 5. After all the interviewing Carol Cheng did. It was clear the Award was between Lee Sze Kei, Michelle Yim, Susanna Kwan, and Liza Wang based on the other actresses opinion. It was shocking when the Top 5 was announced to be Michelle Yim, Lee Sze Kei, Liza Wang, Sonjia Kwok, and Linda Chung. HOLY CRAP! They didn't show Susanna Kwan's face but it must have been like "WTF?". I was so Happy for Sonjia Kwok, she was shocked herself and was just so happy to be in the Top 5. That's humble!

Ha Yu Wins Best Actor: Lee Sze Kei presented the Award. I thought she was rude & kind of out of line. After the announcement of the Top 5 she started talking about the award and who might win, her Lau Kung (Husband) and her two Jai (Sons). She completely excluded Roger Kwok and Kevin Cheng out of the picture like they're chop liver in her opinion. Even if their chances are low because of the popularity of MR, a good presenter would treat all nominees with the same respect.

Ha Yu took home the Award which he was very deserving of. He said he waited 40 years for this day and pulled out as inspirational speech from MR by Sa Yi. The crowd was very happy for him.

TVB Will Be Going Into It's Anniversary With Poor Ratings... TV Rating is taking quite a hit in Hong Kong because of the global economic crisis. This is a big change from most of the past anniversary. This is all happening on the eve of the crowning of the new "TV King" & "TV Queen". They are symbolically the leaders for the upcoming TVB year. Whoever is chosen, they will take over the toughest reign with the current condition.

SO WHO DID YOU VOTE FOR?? Who is Right For The Job?

As TV King...

Roger Kwok? "Two Terms" of Experience as TV King under his belt.
Raymond Lam? The Youngest "TV King" elect ever if he wins, he also has the young popularity vote behind him.
Moses Chan? Will he be re-elected for a second term in a row or will TVB give it to someone else this year?
Ha Yu? He will be the oldest "TV King" elect if he wins. He has the most career experience out of all the other candidates. Will he prevail as the hot favorite or will the company favorite win?

Feeling a little Uninspired and need a Will to Continue

3 more years college and 4 more years graduate school to go!!! Oh god!! And in my head, somewhere in between Prince Charming is suppose to appear lol. Man, how do people stay so focus??? This is just so HARD. Luckily I have people around me that help keep me sane. I usually just watch some series about life, work, love, and success like Slim Chances or Under The Canopy of Love to cheer me up but they've been played out in my book. I finally am able to rewatch In The Realm of Success after 6 years. This is probably one of the best Cinderella Story TVB has ever produced. It tells of Nadia Chan's rise to change her life, her looks, her love, and her career. I'm going currently rewatching it.. Man, this takes me back to the old TVB days...

Even watching the Themevideo makes me feel alittle better. It's fashion runway theme remind me to get up even if I fall. Plus, the themesong by Steven Ma is Awesome.

Just finish the 1st Episode of the Last One Standing. So far, very promising and good. Watching this series in the dark at midnight is just slightly scary lol. This is definitely not your mom and pops series.

Legend of The Demigods/ Hot Men on Your Class or Mine / Feeling The World Wide Financial Crisis

Just Finish Watching Legend of the Demigod: I actually was anticipating this series alot because I really like mythical series like Journey To The West but it kind of disappointed me. When I heard the money that went into this series' CGI was the most for any series I was expecting really good special effects but it really wasn't that good after all. I thought the CGI in Twins of Brother was better and this was along of the lines of Devil's Disciple.

The storyline was not very enticing. It was clearly written for a younger audience that ranged from ages 5-13. To me, it was like a rip off of God of Honor. Nonetheless, the little kid inside me did somewhat enjoy it's entertaining value.

I'm now watching Your Class or Mine: It's actually pretty good. I think this series was made targeting the 13-24 age group. Bobby & Sheren are clearly the only real big name artists headlining it. However, I wouldnt say the casting in this series is bad.

The Men in this series are HOT! Benjamin Yuen (Mr. HK 2007), Him Law, Oscar leung, and Leung Chin Kar make up the main four soccer player. They all are handsome and have a cuteness quality in them. Sadly, the younger females in this series aren't very pretty with the exception of Rabaee Yeung.

I really like Him Law Ching Him. He's another english speaking actor getting a shot at fame with TVB. He's from Australia so he does have an accent as some of you might have noticed. He was also in Dressage To Win. To me he looks like an exact Asian Version of Chace Crawford (Nate from Gossip Girl). That's HOT!

The Financial Crisis: This crisis is quite scary. The U.S. is on the verge of a depression if this keeps up. This has spread to virtually every country throughout the world. Younger generations like most of us should be very worried because it will be very hard to get a student loans for college or graduate school.

The last three weeks have been the worst three weeks for Stocks and Money Markets. It didn't surprise me ratings for TVB Series were down. 2/3 of the population in Hong Kong have investments in Stocks which practically crashed the last few weeks including that gold digging tramp Tracy Ip who claimed she made 300 millions HKD worth of assets from Stocks. People are clearly in no mood to watch to watch TV. If was TVB I would bring out the low budget series now and save the good ones for later.

When a Series is a Watse of Time!!

When a Dog Loves a Cat has to be the most pointless series this year. The script was just terrible. It was written like a sitcom as a filler in between commercials. I regret watching the whole series. Gallen Lo returned to TVB in the worst possible way by being in this series. The premise of the storyline is ridiculous. I wasted 20 episodes of my life and I want it back!!!!!!!

I couldn't believe I actually sat there and watched dogs talking to cats, cats talking to dogs, dogs talking to dogs, humans talking to dogs, dogs talking to humans, humans referring to humans like they're dogs, and dogs referring to dogs like they're humans. Someone please stab a pen in eye!

I think they were trying to make it like Man's Best Friend with Louis Koo, Sammi Cheng, and Jessica Hsuan but it was a complete failure. The only part I found interesting was the short lived love triangle between Gallen, Myolie, and Raymond Wong. P.S. Someone tell Bernice Liu to get her money back for that horrible dye job, her hair looks terrible. It's unevenly highlighted and color are off toned.

MR Log: Final Thoughts

Wow. This series flew by. Mostly because I watched it at every opportunity I had when I was off of class & wasn't studying. The last 20 episodes were very good. A lot of dramatic scenes that left me in a nervous wreck trying to figure out what would happen. So many twists and turns... I never cried so much watching a series.

Bullets of Notable Things:

Michelle Yim is one of best villains ever. She rivals villains like Gallen Lo in Cold Blood Warm Heart.
Tavia Yeung amazed me in this series. The role obviously didn't get as much screen time as other characters but really did raise the bar. I was so disappointed not seeing her nominated for Best Actress.
Fala Chen also surprised with an excellent performance. She made me cry during her wedding scene.
I eventually started fast forwarding most the scenes with Linda & Bosco. Their relationship was pointless and not needed. Linda's character was needed for series but the love triangle with Linda, Raymond, and Bosco should have been scrapped. I finally knew why the lowest ratings were during their scenes.
I hate Kate Tsui's character. She's like a mix of evil and annoying. She did a good job with the role. Although, I have to say, Kate isn't as pretty as the character was made up to be. I actually think Tavia looked prettier. I couldn't get pass Kate's ears and her weird line when she had her hair up.
Linda Chung did an OK job I think. There was SO MUCH Crying that wasn't even needed which came off as over acting.
LSK character was very pityful. She gave a very touching performance.
Susanna Kwan also did a great job. Sa Yi is a very hard character to play.
Lei Heung Kam was brillaint as the grandmother who just wanted the best for her grandchildren.
The love between Moses Chan, Kate Tsui, and Tavia Yeung to me was the best love triangle in the series.
It's my opinion that Ha Yu deserves the Best Actor Award this year. He's not a TVB Siu Sang but his performance was amazing.
I think TVB will either give the Best Actor award to Raymond Lam, but if it comes down to Siu Sangs I would like Moses Chan to win just because I think his acting was one up on Raymond.

Overall, this is one of the best series TVB has ever made. In my opinion this "sequel" was by far alot better than Heart of Greed in every way.

Nancy Wu Getting PUNK'D, TVB Style!

Nathan Lee, Kevin Cheng and Myolie Wu pulled a prank on Nancy Wu.
I had to share this video on YouTube. I originally saw it embedded so it didn't have a title or description so I seriously thought Kevin had an anger management problem. I also really like it because they speak English alot in this video. TVB Artists rarely speak English on camera so it's nice assessment how good they're english are.

SUMMARY:

"Nathan (Nancy's partner) woke Nancy up while she was taking a nap during a rehearsal break. He scribbled on Kevin's picture on the wall saying he's gay and in love with Timmy Hung. Kevin walked by and pretended to be extremely pissed off when he saw the gay joke on the wall, making Nancy feel awkward and guilty to be a part of it. Myolie tried to act surprised by Kevin's anger too.

After a short while, Kevin walked back up to Nancy again and showed her the camera that was recording her candid reaction all these while. Mission accomplished! Haha

Nancy playfully scolded Kevin for being such a fine actor ("TV king") and asked him to treat dinner. She also threatened to fly back to Hong Kong and leave Nathan alone in Hunan. Myolie was blamed for betraying her too. Poor Nancy admitted to Myolie that she didn't suspect anything about the prank at all"

"MR Log": My Moonlight Resonance Plan Backfired

I rented Moonlight Resonance up to episode 8 hoping to paste myself leaving room to study and watch other series like When a Dog Loves a Cat, Best Selling Secret, & Legend of the Demigods but that plan didn't go so well. My uncle came over while I was school and took episode 4-8 to borrow and still hasn't given it back. I had no choice but to watch it online and then temptation took over. Next thing you know I got hooked and watched all the way up to episode 17. Episode 18-20 are already downloaded but that's as far as I can go and now I must wait about another week or more before new episodes come out.

MR is so much better than HOG in opinion. The characters are extremely intriguing. The script is very well written. I'm biting my nails as I watch.

Once again, let's do bullet list of notable things...

Lee Sze Kei character Hor Ma is extremely pityful. I feel touch seeing her kids having so much faith in her and loving her so much.
Moses Chan's character seems to very dynamic to storyline, constantly helping to change the direction of the storyline. For some reason I think he looks so sexy in this series. So geeky & dorky yet tall and innocent with a maturity appeal. So hot....
Raymond Lam is so sweet, kind, and romantic as Goon Ga Jai. I dont see why he has to be the one to fight for Linda. It should be Linda and another female character fighting for him. It would be more interesting.
Linda Chung took the back seat role as Yu So Sum. Her character does not come off special, attention grabbing, or even that important to the storyline.
Tavia Yeung really shines in MR. She's the new Seung Joi Sum minus the annoying Days Without SJS in the background sound when it's her scenes.
Fala Chen has really improved. I feel so sad seeing cry and expressing her feelings through sign language.
I didn't like Ha Yu up until like episode 10. Turns out he has another side to him and he really does care for Hor Ma and all his kids equally.
In HOG, Susanna Kwan was meant to be Evil. I think it's clear she's just meant to be Annoying in MR. She's such an instigator.
Michelle Yim is Amazing as the Villain. Subtle yet extremely Cunning.
I'm dying to see Moses kiss Tavia. I think they're so cute together.
Bosco Wong just appeared, and soon Kate Tsui will too. The love triangles will begin to form... I have a feeling I must brace myself for some serious crying scenes.
I thought it was funny that they had a scene where the family was looking at Kate Tsui's pictures from The Academy II and they all were making faces like they think she's ugly. In reality, it's still the same Kate with just shorter hair.
I learned the youngest brother is name Vincent Wan. To my surprise he's a Dolce Vita boy. Him and the other Dolce Vita boy Jason Chan are so cute. I can't believe Vincent is 24 though, he looks like he's 17 or 18.

My First Glimpse At Moonlight Resonance

I FINALLY got to start to watching Raymond's Dominance, I mean, Moonlight Resonance. So far from episode 1-6, I really like it. I see why some people may be drawn to it like me. This family is so dysfunctional. Worst than the one from Heart of Greed. I think its great since that perfect all around family seen in most TVB series couldn't be more far from reality. Every family has craziness that they keep secret. In a hectic Metropolis like Hong Kong this couldn't be more true. People in HK probably enjoy watching MR because they think it's awesome that there is a family worst than them or what goes on in their family is pretty normal.

What's Stand's Out To Me Right Now

Michelle Yim's Hair/Wig/Helmet/Hat, it took me quite a bit of time to get past what ever the heck is on her head. It looks like the Moon could revolve around it.
For some reason, Fala Chen's character keeps reminding of Myolie Wu's character in Golden Faith.
If I stop, rewind & fast forward randomly, then play, no matter how many times I will land on a scene with Raymond Lam in it. Try it! lol
I really like Moses Chan's character. Sexy nerd vibe...

Lai Lok Yi looks like a Korean gigolo.
The youngest brother in the family is Cute. I dont know his name but he's quite a cutey.
I don't understand how LSK's character didn't end up with at least half of the fortune since Ha Yu was the one that cheated. If that was me, I would take him for all he's got...
The grandma's acting is terrific!
Susanna Kwan out dos herself and takes it to another level of annoyingness. Good job!

NEWS: Kevin Cheng & Bosco Wong Share an Intimate & Playful Kiss On the Set of Burning Flames 3

Producer Amy Wong decided to add a "Brokeback" Scene to the upcoming Burning Flames 3 in order to lighten up the very serious storyline. The scene tells of Kevin Cheng pretending to be gay to fool Myolie Wu. However, Myolie's character didn't fall for it so she demanded Kevin to kiss Bosco Wong to prove it. The two actors were extremely professional on set and took only one take to get it right. Bosco even joked that Kevin was a better kisser than Myolie and Niki Chow is a lucky girl.

You guys are very wise to highlight and read more because I have one thing to say... Gotcha! That piece of news is Fake. HONESTLY, Who actually fell for it?? Be honest, even if it was for a second. OK. Let explain what happened. Me & my good friend Mia went to our lecture class this week and she saw this really cute asian guy she likes. There no more seats left so we were forced to seat next to him with me sitting closest to him. She has the biggest crush on him so it was so awkward for her. After a 20 minutes, he took his pen and move it over to my notepad on my desk. He then wrote on it "Hey. My name's Andy. What ur's? ###-###-7379". I then wrote back, "My name is Annastasia but call me Asia". THEN, Mia saw me & got mad! I was like OMG! It wasn't my fault! We were cool about it though, she just thought it was funny after a while, but she said jokingly she will get me back.

The next day, she Saran Wrapped my car! It was kind of hard getting it off and nearly broke my new Candies Stiletto Pumps doing it. It was kind of funny but I knew I had to get her back. Remember, Never go to bed mad, stay up and plot your Revenge! I suddenly remembered Mia is a HUGE Bosco Fan. She has a like a bunch of posters of him, all his series, and is a member at all his forums because she actually thinks she has a chance with him lol. So I decided to photoshop that picture and tell her Bosco just revealed that he's actually gay. As I was photoshopping I cringed because I couldn't believe how real it looks. I'm so bad at Photoshop.

The next day I showed her the picture (Without the Water Mark). I told her Bosco came out to HK media and proclaimed that he is gay and in a relationship with Kevin Cheng. She Gasped, put her hands over her mouth, and ran to her bedroom. I put my ear to the door and I was like OMG!!! She was crying! I couldn't help but laugh. Then I realized this was wrong so I yelled that it was just a prank. I almost bad for doing it lol. In the end it was all cool.

I will forever remember this as "My Big Fat TVB Prank" Starring Kevin Cheng & Bosco Wong and Produced by Asia Choi.

OMG! I loved this year's show. I watched it with my girlfriends Crystal & Taryn on Direct TV. I was like a bachelorette party for us. Taryn is white so she never seen the show before. She loved it! She kept on screaming at the TV, it was so funny. It was so fun.

This year's show was so entertaining and the quality of the contestants were amazingly hot. There were three international contestants from the U.S. There was one well known male supermodel. A Hins Cheung (#9), Takeshi Kaneshiro (#8), A Farenheit member (#6), and Nick Cheung (#8) look alike. You click the pictures on the left to see the contestants.

I actually like the talent portion of the competition more than the swimsuit competition this year. I'm very happy with with results I'm hoping my favorites will get contracts with TVB.

This Year's Winner is #12 Michael Tsu Wilson. He's from Nevada U.S.A. He did an amazing job winning over the 700 female judges with the most votes out of all the contestants. At one point he said "Ladies, you all are gifts from heaven, beautiful stars in the night." I was like WOW, what a line! lol. If a guy tried that line on me........ I would totally fall for it.

He's the first winner from the U.S. (Matthew Ko is from Canada, Francois Huynh is from France, and Benjamin Yuen is from Hong Kong). Sadly I learned that Michael has turned down a contract offer from TVB to continue his education at Brigham Young University. WOW! Brigham Young! He's smart!

My Second Favorite is #3 Alan Wan from New York. He has that boy next door look. He reminds me of a High School crush I had. I feel so excited for him. He left New York to venture to HK and became a Finalist. I saw his friends from NY leaving messages saying how proud of him they are on YouTube. Yes, he's mixed.

The Hottest Guy in the competition is #10 Dickson Wong! He's Koni Lui's boyfriend. I've been hearing so much about him in the press. I kept hearing Dickson and I thought he is white, turns out he's mixed but he mainly speaks Cantonese. He's actually a very well known supermodel in Hong Kong for Model One Agency. I think his bone structure and body is amazing. He was my girlfriend's favorite.

#1 Andy is apparently is popular among the HK Celeb scene. He has alot of celebrity friends. Someone wrote in a forum on Baidu that Bosco Wong doesn't like him because he tried to court Myolie Wu. I think he's actually cute but his performance during the competition was not very good.

I think #6 Joey Law did a great job too winning the Youth Group Award. My favorite bit from the show was Christine Ng bringing out her oxygen mask when Alan Wan came out in his swimsuit.

CATFIGHT!! Erica Yuen Vs. Tracy Ip

The press made this out like it was the HK version of Tyra Banks vs. Naomi Campbell. I took an interest in this because the claws really came out with these girls. They were really good friends who compete along side each other during Miss HK 2005 but then Tracy apparently back stabbed Erica to Ms. Lok Yi Ling. Soon after that Erica left TVB.

Now Erica called out Tracy by saying she's a gold digger. She dates & goes on vacation with old rich men for their wealth after her break up with Don Li. She bought a mansion worth $300 million HKD and a brand new sports car. She claimed she invested in stocks. I don't believe that for a sec and so do most people in Hong Kong. I think she MIGHT be another fame whore and gold digger like Michelle Reis who I can't stand now because she's a craddle robbing tramp who broke up people's family & detroyed marriages.

I think TVB agrees with what I see because they just frozed Tracy because of all the negative press. Upon further investigation they apparently found out she was the one purposely spreading all the rumors to the magazines in order to promote herself. TVB has now stopped all her work. I can't believe she did that!

Overall,
Tracy thinks Erica has a little too much attitude and should mind her own business.
And Erica thinks Tracy has a little to much tainted money and a honey roasted ham on her head.

Ada Choi & Chilam Cheung in Who's The Winner 2008

I was alittle shocked when I heard it. ATV is remaking Who's The Winner. I remember watching all three Parts when I was young. It was probably ATV's highest rated and most popular series in the 90's. Hong Kong viewers really loved the series because it's plot around casino & cards and the overall storyline. The series had 3 parts to it and each parts had very bigs names for the 90's like Chan Ting Wai, Joey Meng, Jacky Lui, Paul Chun, Nick Cheung, Eddy Ko, Margie Tsang, Christine Ng, Ken Tong, Simon Yam, and Kwong Wa. I can't believe they would risk the reputation of the originals because the remake might flop.

I was wondering who would be part of the cast because those are pretty big shoes to fill. Next Magazine said the new producer of the series promised a TVB Fa Dan would lead the cast. I thought for a while it would either be Kenix Kwok or Maggie Cheung Hor Yee. To my surprise they found Ada Choi to headline the series being the focus of attention. I was alittle puzzled by this since Ada has a contract with TVB. Turns out she found a loop hole in the contract which allows her to film mainland series. ATV decided to film this series under their mainland company name so Ada would be able take part. Very smart! 2 Million HKD is a big payout for Ada for just one series. She seems really excited about the series by looks of her blogs. They also were successful recruiting Chilam Cheung. I haven't seen him in a TV series in ages. I think Kenneth Chan, Pinky Cheung, and Gilbert Lam might be a part of it too, they're usually included in all in big scale ATV productions. If I'm not mistaken filming started a couple months ago but there hasn't been much press about it.

Maybe I might give this series a watch. I would be interesting seeing Ada becoming the headliner in the series, after all, the originals were all headlined by men. However, this might become an issue if ATV decides to air it while TVB airs The Gem of Life.

Asia's Personal Blog: Congrats Graduates!!! And soon to be'z

Since I wasn't around to blog during the graduation months of April-June, I would like to take this opportunity to say Congrats to all the graduates of 2008. Congrats Grads! Whether it be High School or College. It is an amazing accomplishment. You will remember the moment for the rest of your life.

And for those who close to graduation, enjoy the moment. I know not every momen
t will be good but in the end it will be worth it. You're one step closer. Good luck!

Throughout this busy & hard year I have to say I've had an amazing time in College. I've met so many new friends and learned so many new things. Here some lessons I've learned about college people starting college this year might appreciate and current college students might concur with.

1. Do not dorm or room with your close friends. Dorm with a complete strangers or acquaintances. Dorming with them will encourage you to go out and meet new people. If you dorm with your close friends you might never leave your dorm, like my friends who are hermits and never leave see the day light.

2. Go to class. I know so many people that are squandering so much money by never going to class and then failing their test.

3. Learn to balance partying and studying. This is probably the main thing people have a problem with.

4. Know that some of your friends WILL change. Some of my friends have started drinking/smoking/having random sex. Don't be too weirded out.

5. Long distance relationships seldom work out. Sorry you hopeless romantics but I haven't seen one work out yet. My good friend openly cheats on his girlfriend... Men...

6. Contrary to what a lot of people think and say, you do NOT NEED TO CHANGE YOUR MAJOR 88384756399302 TIMES. Pick something you are passionate about. If you absolutely hate biology or chemistry then maybe Med school is not for you. If you hate math then avoid engineering. You will never change your major if you pick something that you like... and you'll save a lotta money too =]

7. Have FUN! Do not study 24/7....

8. STUDY! Do not party 24/7...(yes, I realize that these 2 rules are the same as #3... but it's that important!)

9. If you bring a rice cooker with you to college, all the white people will think you're awesome. HAHA

10. Freshman 15 does exist. Go to the gym or eat healthy.

11. Get used to going to bed real late if you live in a dorm. Things will keep you up late until maybe 2 or 3. Even later on exam week.

12. www.ratemyprofessor.com is your bible. Use it well. It's correct almost 90 percent the time. Be weary though, if you go through college just taking all easy A classes... you won't do so well if you plan on taking test like MCATs/PCATs/DATs/Boards...

13. Flash cards are your friends. They seriously do help in studying =/ Even though I never use them... I should start though

14. Just like highschool, join some clubs =P They look good on your transcripts if your trying to get into a particular College in your University.

15. Get a feel for your professor. If your professor doesn't like to be interrupted, then just shut up. If your teacher doesn't like you to be late, then try to show up on time. And for the love of god, put your cell phones on silent. If you get on your teachers bad side, you are screwed for the semester.

16. If you're going to a big scale college, get used to walking everywhere. My friends have to leave dorm like 30 mintues before class just to walk there.

17. Make sure you actually LOOK at your schedule when you're registering for classes. Do you have 10 minutes inbetween class for a 30 minute walk? And don't take go crazy and take more than... maybe 17 credits max. And don't be lazy and take less than 12 credits. And for you doctors/dentist/pharmicist, try not to take more than 2 sciences a semester. It gets overwhelming if you have 3 or more.

17a. For summer courses, don't take 2 sciences. It sucks hardcore. Just take 1 science and some other class.

18. REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! People are not stupid and they will try to sign up for the best teachers right away. You should try to register right on your registration date! Going to a large scale university will make it hard for you to make your schedule because the classes are based around the professor and when he feels like teaching. However, if you go to a community college it's mad easy.

19. Textbooks are expensive. If you can get away with getting a book at discount store than do it. The book stores at the university are crazy about the prices. Also, try to get books from friends.

20. Going to college or a university is a brand new start for you. Everything you achieved beforehand means absolute nothing now. If you didn't do too hot in highschool don't let that bring you down. I believe succeeding in life isn't all about natural intelligence(although it's a nice added bonus =O). If you work hard and stay dedicated then you'll be able to over come anything. This can also go the other way around, if you breezed through highschool, don't think for a second you can do the same with college...

No Promotion Gimmick This Olympic,TVB?

I'm so surprised TVB didn't jump on this opportunity to promote talents. The 2004 Olympic saw the creation of the "Olympic Six" consisting of Raymond Lam, Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Sammul Chan, Kenneth Ma, and Lai Lok Yi. It wasn't very successful at the time but in the near future was quite effective under the guidance of Virginia Lok Yi Ling. I'm so surprise Mrs. Lok did not come up with a promotion tactic to go along with the 2008 Olympics especially when it's being hosted in China. I was sure that they would have took this chance to showcase the upcoming female artistes. Guess not... Let's go down a quick round out to see how successful the "Olympic Six" became.

Raymond Lam: The most heavily promoted male artist in TVB History! More so now than ever. I thought Louis Koo got the super VIP treatment, I had no idea... There's a 99% chance he will win Best Actor this year.

Ron Ng: He was so popular back in 2006 & early 2007 my High School wanted him to be our Homecoming King (Not Really). He still is popular now but not as much as he was back then because issues like disputes with his then record label Sony BMG. I still say his popularity and career is a success.

Bosco Wong: Very successful career at this time especially with the airing of War of In Laws II this year. Recently going in drought in leading male roles though. Nonetheless, a another successful promotion.

Kenneth Ma: Persistence will pay off. This is true in his case. He is receiving a big push by TVB. In the last year or so, he was given 3 leading male roles (Survivor's Law II, Hidden Master, & Speech of Silence). People don't realize it but he is technically higher in the promotion ranking than Ron & Bosco.

Sammul Chan: He's not a TVB Management artist. He had a chance to sign with them back in 2006 but turned them down and announced it publicly in the press. It was clear TVB was very upset by this. Right now, he still gets supporting roles in series but don't coun't on a promotional push.

Chris Lai Lok Yi: He really did get the short end of the stick of the six. Even after HOG help propelled his popularity alittle he is still getting the same level of acting roles. He's the only one out of the six that might be in hot waters with the recent promotion of Stephen Huynh and Matthew Ko instead of him.

Miss Hong Kong 2008

As an annual tradition I watched Miss Hong Kong this year. Sad to say, the show was very boring. It was such a letdown considering last year's show was very entertaining because they made it like the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. This year's show was OK in terms decorations and staging but it's overall production was very dull. The contestants were very unrehearsed. They very sloppy with their dances and were extremely slow when it came to synchronize routines like they forgot what to do next. Sad to also say this but the quality of this year's contestants have gone down.

Here are my critiques of the winners...

Miss Hong Kong 2008-Edelweiss Cheung

Her name is pronounced [E-DELL-WISE] but written like the flower which is actually pronounced [EH-DAL-WEEZ], weird... She was recently called the worst Miss HK by many netizens because of her looks but mostly because of he behavior. She had her pictures taken when she was caught making out with her boyfriend in public, clubbing, smoking, and drinking. There's a fine example for young girls to look after in Hong Kong........ There's rumors she won because she knew one of the judges. I think she's not a very good choice for Miss Hong Kong too. If you remember, last year's winner Kayi Cheung was called the worst winner in the last 20 years but I got good news for you Kayi. Everyday is a new day baby, believe that! Edelweiss Cheung is quickly coming after that title.

To me she looks like a less prettier version of Fala Chen. One of her eyes is very noticeably bigger than the other, especially when she smiles. She's the tallest Miss Hk ever standing at 5'11, that's 6'3 with heels on... Even though she's very tall, her figure is not very good, it's kind of bean pole looking. There were plenty of other tall contestants in the past more deserving of the crown than her like Carrie Lam (5'10), Koni Lui (5'9), or Loretta Chow (5'9).

I think she won 1st Runner Up because she performed well during the competition. To me she looks so much older than her age. I think its because of her really defined squared shape jaw. It also makes her look a bit too masculine.

As some of you guys might remember, Bosco and I didn't end on good terms before I went on a hiatus lol. I called out his fashion sense because of his over the top feminine wardrobe. What really set off the critique was a really horrendous outfit he wore to JSG about a year ago (On the Left). If any of you guys would like to re-read the whole post here is the link: CLICK HERE.

Anyways, one year later I think Bosco might have heard about all the critiques by netizens in forums and maybe my post (Not! HAHA). The priceless shirt he wore to a Moonlight Resonance event won me over. It's hilarious! I think its great that he's able to make fun of himself. I didn't see the shirt until yesterday though because most of the pictures were of Lee Si Kei and some newcomer you guys might have heard of named Raymond Lam =D

Catch Me Now's Vixen

Catch Me Now did not catch my attention at first. For the most part I couldn't figure
what it was about without reading the in-depth synopsis which at the time I was alittle lazy to do lol. Long story short, I rented it anyways.

The series is actually very interesting and well scripted. I thought the whole storyline would just be this cat and mouse game between Damien Lau and Joe Ma but there was so much more to it. The near ending was very sad, very few series make me cry. Johnson Lee's character made a huge impact on the storyline.

The whole show's limelight was stolen by... Drum rolls please... Koni Lui. Throughout its airing I only remembered seeing Koni Lui at sponsored promotion events I wasn't sure why until now. Her popularity spiked big time! Even now she's at promotion events daily and in news almost everyday. Her role as "Long Leg Crab" is a breakthrough role. She made Damien's squad interesting, otherwise it would be a bunch of dudes in organized crime again. Her acting is very good for her first performance, very natural, outshining Aimee Chan (who edged her out in winning Miss Hong Kong 2006) and even... dare I say it? Fala Chen. I sense she's one of those naturals like Maggie Cheung Ho Yi and Kenix Kwok.

Her body is sick! I'm a girl and I was even eyeing her. She seems very comfortable with her height and embraces it which is good. Sometimes actresses look uncomfortable onscreen with their height if they're tall. She's very pretty, dubbed a Shu Qi look alike. I predict she will be even more popular in the future...

OH I FORGOT TO MENTION, Her boyfriend in real life, supermodel Dickson Wong and Mr. HK Finalist is one of the hottest men I've ever seen! Lucky gal!

Forensic Heroes II

ah.. Very much anticipated for me. Here's how I felt about it...

Bobby Au-Yeung was held back by Yoyo Mung. She had less screentime and he is romantically linked to her in the series so he in turn had less screentime when it came to scenes involving love & relationship.

Yoyo Mung is slowly becoming a dull actress. I used to praised her as her acting improved and I thought she had beautiful legs and a supermodel figure. Ever since she started dating Ekin Cheng she seems to think she's too big for TVB now. There were reports of her having an attitude and constantly coming late so that's why the producer cut her screentime. Her acting in FH II was not very good. I think she realized she would have half the screentime so she only did half the acting job.

Frankie Lam: In my opinion he was the lead actor in this series. He had the most screentime hands down compared to everyone else. Its good to see that TVB isn't playing favortism game since Frankie isn't a TVB Management contracted artiste. He gave a very good performance.

Charmaine Sheh: I like her character in the beginning. Towards the middle I felt it was wrong of her to be with Kevin while she had feelings for Frankie and pretending nothing was wrong. Towards the end she finally realized she belongs with Kevin after "the series of events" that happened. Charmaine's acting is very good. She was a cop in DIF 4, and Angels of Mission too but she brought a completely new spin to the character keeping it fresh.

Kevin Cheng: His character became a charity case. He has good intension but it seem like people only cared half as much if it was some else. It was really towards the end that his character got to shine but it came with a very pitiful price. Overall, I think he delivered a good performance.

Linda Chung: I thought her death in the beginning was very sad. Frankie Lam's intense crying added alot of sorrow to the situation. We all of course know that Linda had to be killed off because of scheduling conflict with filming. It didnt really buy how she did died though. Yoyo only could only grap hold of her scarf and not her arm so she ended up about 3 feet closer to the explosion (if even that). I'm no bomb expert but common sense saids if Yoyo survived, Linda should have survived too.

The Series itself was very good. I felt some of the cases should have had alittle more build up and development. Some of the cases were unpredictable, I'll give you that. I thought the more well known stars acting in the roles would be the culprit 100% of the time but the producer switched it up so you can't really tell.

Quality of TVB Series Over The Last Year

To me, this year there was a balance with quantity and quality. There was always a decent TVB Series to watch which is a great thing since it's main purpose is to entertain us and it would pretty hard to do if there was only a small handful of series that is released yearly. If they were to only focus on the quality a few series yearly then there would only be very little series to watch.

I actually like it better the way it is. Many series with different genres, subjects, time periods, sequels, & etc... for all of us to be able to pick and choose from. Of course there will be hits and of course misses but rolling the dice is part of life. Overall, I say the quality has actually gone... UP with storyline and plot improving. To be fair the majority of the misses were filmed years ago or not very recently like Tai Chi.

What Does This Really? It will mean alot to some but absolutely nothing to people who are biased towards cast. In a given TVB year, if there is an increased in the amount of series with their favorite artiste or artistes then the quality has increased to them, if not, the quality has gone down regardless of how good it is. Just keep that in mind, and decide for yourself whether you find the quality of a series to be good or bad and not let anyone sway your opinion too much.

Anne Heung's Retirement

I agree with some the critics that she isn't exactly the best actress but she is a decent actress. She serves a very familiar face. I would refer to her as one of my generation of supporting class actresses. She started out when I first started to become interested in TVB series. For that, I did enjoy her appearance in TVB Series.

She will be forever known as the third party that broke up Louis & Jessica in DIF 4. Now only Jessica remains at TVB out of the trio from the infamous love triangle. She also had many other memorable & pitiful roles in series like Golden Faith.

I realized alot of things while I was away from the TVB Fandom online. One of which was that you can find inner Peace with yourself. It would always make me mad when people hardshly criticized actors, actresses, and series for no apparent reason except for their personal biased. But after being so far away from it all, I did not care anymore about competition, promotions of artistes, and TV Ratings. I found enjoyment in watching TVB Series with a carefree attitude like I used too when I was really young and I was truly enjoyed watching artistes delivering their performance whether it was good or bad.

TVB Series had finally took me into a moment of peace & tranquility again. It never felt so good to be back & lost in the moment.

Dear loyal readers of TVB Generation,

I know me abruptly ending updates on the blog was wrong and I am very sorry. However, during the past year or so alot has happened. I developed a health issue that I'm still treating, it was my fault for not taking care of myself. My mother was also laid off so I had to move back home to help out while still going school. I've had a very stressful & busy year, but I've always thought about this blog. It is a very sentimental part of my life. I started it & ran it since 2005 when I was just a 15 year old girl. Now I'm a 19 year old woman with responsibilities. I've actually been visiting this blog quite frequently in the last few months but I have been too ashame to post or say anything.

I've realized so much has change. New and fresh blogs with innovative ideas and designs are everywhere now. I remembered when there was only a few TVB blogs around like SehSeh's Blog, ToomanysidesofTVB, HK Buzz, TVB Chinese News, & TVB Musing. Now you can spend days just surfing TVB Blogs. It makes me think the TVB world online has moved on to another "Generation". It makes me feel very sad to think about how much life & everything in general has changed along with it.

However, it still makes me happy that people still remember this little thing called TVB Generation. I still see alot of regular readers here. I also was searching for tvb g... just less than a nanosecond from typing in an "e" to completely type "tvb gem of life" on google and the phrase TVB Generation popped up. It was one of the most touching feeling I've felt all year. I can't believe after so long people are still searching for TVB Generation. It was then I decided even though I might not be the same girl that ran this blog into it's personal peak anymore, but I will still do my best as a woman to revive it so at least its alive. I know not as many people are still reading this but it really doesn't matter to me, I'm just happy to see people still here expressing their opinions which is what the blog was originally created to do.

I will do my best to update this blog for you guys. Updates will be brief but I will be completely honestly about my feelings and my opinions like I used to be.

Super Trio Show Criticism: right or wrong?

Super Trio Supreme (a.k.a Super Trio Wonder Trip)

Super trio show 8th season had aired a total of 3 episodes so far. I was really anticipating to watch it when I first saw all those funny pictures of the first episode. It's probably the longest running gameshow in Hong Kong. Its first debut was actually in 1995. Wow! It'd been 13 years!

So what is with all the complaints? Viewers claim that the show contains violent, cruelty, and inappropriate behaviour that could affect children. I got to admit, the show does contain games that could be inappropriate for children to watch, but it's indeed very entertaining! I'm almost finish with the first episode and it's very hilarious! This game involves body contact (the famous seaweed/card transfer game), intelligence, and fast movements. It's really weird, but we tend to love gameshow that involves a bit of violence right? But the purpose of this gameshow is to entertain viewers isn't it? Therefore, I absolutely don't think that there's anything wrong with displaying a bit of violence that could be entertaining. (Please note that this is base only on my point of view.)

This is probably why viewers think that the show is inappropriate?

Body contact and a bit of violence is probably why viewers think that the show is inappropriate. The older generation might not like these kind of actions, but it's the 21st century and displaying these type of action is quite normal. Because I live in the States, these type of actions are really normal and familiar among my surroundings, while in Hong Kong, some things are more conservative than others. I guess this is the reason why the older generation had file the complaints against the game show.

Other than that, the game show is overall fun and entertaining!

One of the games from the first episode is adapted from the Japanese game show, "The Human Tetris". It's a must watch because it's very hilarious! Basically, the foam board will display a body structure and the contestant have to somehow fit through it so that they can successfully go to the other side. If not, they will fall into the water. It might look easy, but it's actually very hard! The picture of Charmaine Sheh clinging onto the board is just priceless.

She has some medical problems and is trying to catch up with her school work so she doesn't have much time to update the blog. However, when she has the time, she will come back and update again. My Personal Top 10 Most Enjoyable TVB Couplings of 2007

10. Linda Chung & Raymond Lam: Quite enjoyable in the beginning, but got uh... weird towards in the end. Alfred Leung cheating on Seung Joi Sam with her best friend in the storyline is kind of a turn off. And that whole diary thing got old...

9. Bosco Wong and Bernice Liu: They had good chemistry in Devil's Disciple but sadly the storyline did not let them end up together.

8. Alvina Kong & Tsui Weng: Their characters Diana & Kau Chun from The Best Selling Secret was enjoyable in the sense that they both knew they were something between each other and their relationship started to developed more interesting over time with both not acting on it completely leaving some mystery.

7. Gigi Lai & Moses Chan: Let's just talk in terms of the first half of The Ultimate Crime Fighter. They were considered an odd couple. Gigi originally didn't care for Moses but then she developed a huge crush on him. He however thought she didn't match him, but her sincerity won him over. Jonh Lung eventually fell in love with Ching Ching which was very touching, but their ending....

6. Feng Shao Feng & Myolie Wu: Their storyline was unique. They both face rejection from people who they love and thought love them. They found love between the two of them in the end which was sweet.

5. Sharon Chan & Kevin Cheng: Both had loner personalities in Devil Disciple because of their tough childhood. Both were misunderstood because they had a personal mission
in life that strangely brought them together. It's clear they developed love for each, but their ending was pityful.

4. Sheren Tang & Michael Miu: A shaky relationship that went through alot of turmoil in The Drive of Life. They broke up in the beginning, but both were still in love with each other. All the things they were willing to do for each other were very touching. In the end they were brought back to together again by their strong love bond.

3. Esther Kwan & Gregory Wong: Their characters Wong Ka Lam and Vincent in The Best Selling Secret had one of the most interesting storyline that developed over time. What seemed to be a sudden crush turned out to be a love spark that first occured almost two decades ago, but did not fall into place. There is clearly feelings between both but will they both ever fully act on it??

2. Charmaine Sheh & Raymond Lam: This relationship had humor, sparks, and turmoil. It was a love hate relationship between them through out the storyline, but in the end they ended up together and they were willing to do anything for each other.

1. Steven Ma & Bernice Liu: I just dont know what it is about them, but they seem to have a great chemistry. The things they do in the series were very cute, for example, the turning back to glance with the coin thing is absolutely adorable. The overall storyline enhanced their chemistry greatly. The music in the series made their scenes together so lovely. I enjoyed this coupling the most this year. Ja'Dore!

Sorry, I didn't go online all of Christmas Day so I couldn't wish you guys a Merry Christmas, but I hope you all had a Happy Holiday!

I was so bored, happy, and sad at the same time today. I don't have any new TVB series left in my house, and my cable TV (Direct TV Satellite) went out, I was absolutely devastated. I'm left without my favorite channels like MTV, VH1, E!, Oxygen, & Bravo. Well, at least I was able to watch the finale of "A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila" before it went out. My friend told me there are software programs online that let's you watch streaming Cable TV from your computer, DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS??? I would be eternally greatful if anyone show me how to do this. Anyways, in the mist of this depression I got a new laptop. With absolutely nothing to watch (Sniff Sniff...) I decided to make a TVB Music Video on my new laptop.

The Ultimate Crime Fighter SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!*

I Can't Believe What I'm Watching... Kevin Cheng's character (Aaron Chong Man Hei) is horrific. I was watching the scene where he killed Ching Ching (Gigi Lai) at 2 AM last night and I couldn't believe her life came to an end that way. Gigi's character is very innocent and sweet and to see that she was killed by someone she trusted like that was shocking. I knew even before watching the series that it was bound to happen but OMG... I anticipate the last few episodes will be very tense. Her death seems to have make a huge impact on most of the major characters in the series. Kevin's gay (or bisexual) psycho serial killer character Aaron is really one of the scariest I've seen in series.

I really like watching TUCF. I had doubts about it in the first 4 episdoes because I so afraid the entire series will revolve around Yuen Biao's psyhic abilities, but I'm glad it eventually faded almost completely out of the storyline. Once I got past the first 5 episode and it got alot better. This series somewhat reminds of series like the Justice Files. I want to see how everything will end. I heard Moses Chan's character makes a drastic change after Gigi Lai's death.

This series is very violent in the beginning. However, it died down towards the middle. And became more violent towards the end. I was so surprise to see TUCF got a NC-16 Rating ( No Children Under 16 are permitted to watch) in the U.S. My rental store would let this 15 year old boy rent it because of the warning DVD set came with. They were afraid they might lose their lincense to rent out DVDs.

Sonjia Kwok Leaving TVB

I just read Sonjia Kwok will not renew her contract next year with TVB and will instead be focusing on mainland productions because that's where the real money is. This saddens me, I know I'm not a HUGE Sonjia Kwok fan, but she was a good actress that I liked. Watching her through out the years made me fond her acting and she serves as a familar face in series. It seems like TVB is going on power trip overporomoting new actresses like Kate Tsui, Fala Chen, Linda Chung, ... that they lose sight of people who has stuck by them over years and loyal to them and not moving to ATV. C'mon, Leila Tong deserves alittle promotion even though she's not under contract. You can tell there's real substance in her acting. Anyways, I hope she will still come back to film TVB series like Ada Choi did when she left TVB management. This remeinds me of how I felt when Michelle Ye left. I know there were so many rumors about her, but I quite enjoyed her acting. By the way, Toby Leung is in talks to officially become a TVB mangament actress in 2008. She will move away from singing and more towards televison so get ready lol. I'm guessing she will become the next Sonjia Kwok in TVB's eyes....... (Roll Eyes..)

The Rundown on The Drive of Life

So much to say, but I want to keep brief and not long winded.

1st: The first 10 episodes of Drive was bleh... It was a horrible idea to use the Damian Lau and the three brother's love hate relationship as the opener to the series and hook people. It quite boring to me...

2nd: The dialogue about cars through out the series was so zzzZZZ... They were talking about mechanical parts, car engines, tires, and the list goes on. This might be new to some people but the majority of people that watch TVB series are women. And most women aren't that interested in hearing about car parts... Raymond Lam's body parts, that's another story...

3rd: The last 25 episodes was actually REALLY GOOD. The storyline had finally developed into it's climax. We finally knew who were the true villains and the suspense building towards the finale.

4th: Toby Leung was TERRIBLE! Actors basically pretend to someone their not and most of the time it is believable. Toby does such a horrible job at "pretending" that she looks like one of those people that are bad liars. It was like she was lying to me onscreen. Her crying was just so BAD. She basically just opens her mouth REALLY wide and cringes her face.

5th: I know the storyline was male dominated but I found the women's storyline more interesting.

6th: Best Actress in this series goes to Sheren Tang, hands down.

7th: The most dynamic character in this series is Wing Sau Fung (Charmaine's). So well crafted and had such a huge impact on the series. Wing Sau Fung to me was a combination all four dominant women in War & Beauty because possessed qualities that existed in all of them. On Sin-Highly Intellegant; Yuk Ying: Foolish; Yee Shun: Cunning; Yue Fei: Strong Willed. (By the way, I know the series were not produce by the same producers.)

8th: WHY JESSICA? WHY?! Why did you accept this role? Her character was so annoying and did nothing dynamic to the overall storyline until all the way towards the end. She basically lived off of what Joe Ma's character did. Her character was irrational, stupid, and a push over.

9th: The ending could have been better. It was good, but I really expected a better ending.

10th: Overall, this was a really good series. I have no clue way everyone is saying it is bad. Alot of them didn't watch it yet, but they had to jump in with comments saying it's not interesting and it's a failure. I think they're just bandwagoners who dislike one or two of the cast members so they'll say anything to bring it down or bring up the series their favorite stars are in. This is so stupid to me, if you're a TVB fans you should have an open mind about all series... This goes for all series, not just [Drive] by the way...

TVB Should SERIOUSLY Do Research Before They Name A Series

My Finals are next week so that's why it's been crazy for me. I've been getting only 4-5 hours of daily sleep in the last week. Please bare with me.

Anyways, I was reading a series of Articles for my Law Studies class & I happened to run across a bunch of articles about "Devil's Disciple". At first I was like, TVB series? Because I only read the title. But after I read everything I was like OMG!

TVB should have done research before they named their serial "Devil's Disciple". Turns out Devil's Disciple is a very well known prison gang consisting of gay men who rape as a tradition. This prison gang exist in almost every state in the U.S. and internaitionally established in countries like Germany, Australia, The Phillipines, & ironically China. The head boss of the prison is called the Devil and all his followers are called Disciples. Inorder to become a disciple they must be "sodomized" by the Devil and all the top Disciples. Some time these men forcefully anal raped and become disciples even they fight back. Each rape victim are raped on average by 10-20 men. The gang "Devil's Disciple" now exist outside of prisons because members get out & establish it outside. Calling someone a Devil's Disciple is now slang in the urban gang community for saying you like it up the butt.

Members of Devil's Disciple were prosecuted & had to testify before a federal court because U.S. President George Bush drafted the Anti-Prison Rape Act. So the name Devil's Disciple is quite infamous for "gay rape". It is suppose be added to the famous "Urban Dictionary" in 2009.

It is so ridiculous that TVB name it "Devil's Disciple". After all the premise of the series revolve around Disciples under a tyrant Master or "Devil". Thinking back I remember someone made a video that depicted Kevin Cheng & Bosco Wong as lovers in the series & now I kind of think that's a little weird. I read on Baidu a long time ago in Kevin's next series "Walking With The Enemy" he has scene where he is in prison & he's fighting all the inmates because they want to... Sure, it will be a break through role for him but I think TVB is really getting open with all these topics that people would never openly talk about. I was quite surprise when I saw a scene in "Men Dont Cry" where Dayo Wong & Benz Hui in prison there were actual blunt references to Benz being butt raped by Rocky Cheng which he wasnt.

TVB 40th Anniversary Award Reactions

The Results Were Overall Not Much of A Surprise: I knew Fala Chen would pick up an award regardless so when she won Best Supporting Actress I was slightly shocked, but I knew it was bound to happen. Kate Tsui won Most Improved which wasn't a HUGE surprise to me because I predicted in my head it would either be Bernice, Fala, or Kate. Bernice Liu has become the Susan Luchi of the TVB world. (For those who don't know Susan Luchi is a popular soap star in the U.S. that always get nominated for decades but never won. Calling someone Susan Luchi is now a slang in the U.S. entertainment world for not winning repeatedly.) Amigo Chui winning Most Improved Actor was really weird since he's a Host NOT Actor.

Moses Chan's win(s)made my day. I could not believe "The Ada Effect" (http://tvbgeneration.blogspot.com/2007/01/who-i-think-will-win-best-actor-in-2007.html) actually struck again. And I could not believe my prediction from like 10 months ago was actually right. I'm gonna go buy a lottery ticket tomorrow. I guess either Michael Miu or Steven Ma will next year.

As far Ray, Gigi, & Lei Si Kei winning the awards they did, I wasnt surprised at all because I predicted them. But Susanna Kwan winning Fav. Female Character & Louis Yuen winning Best Supporting did catch me off guard, but they're part of the "Heart of Greed Entourage" so it was easy to understand. The HOG cast really sucked the life out of the award show itself.

I CRIED when I saw the Lydia Sum Life Time Achievement segment. It was depressing to see how different & skinny she was. Even her voice was not the same. The happy & fat Lydia Sum really lighted up a room, and no matter what she still will light up a room. Her daughter Joyce Cheng singing with Lau Ka Cheung to her was so sad. =(

Random Notes About The Show:

Kate Tsui's eye shadow & make up was WAY TOO MUCH! Halloween was last month...
Gigi Lai's cleavage stole the limelight.
Florence Kwok should have won Best Supporting Actress hands down, but what can you do...
I was amused when Ray Lui referred to Sheren Tang, Charmaine Sheh, & Gigi Lai as being "new" leading actresses. The look on their faces were priceless.
Kathy Chow Hoi Mei's long winded speech about the TVB Actors was so funny.
Liza Wang taking pictures of everyone at random moments with her digital camera was pretty funny.
TVB has got to get rid of that Gameboy Pocket Video Game sounding music theme.
Fala Chen doesn't look that pretty when her hair is up.
They should have showed the reaction TVB Artistes inseatd of the clips from the series.

Overall, that's all I have to say about it right now. Looking foward to the TVB Anniversary Celebration!

How Exciting!

I didn't even realize the TVB Award Ceremony is just a hours away by Hong Kong time. I understand TVB aded two new awards "Favorite Mainland Actor" & "Favorite Mainland Actress". Don't understand how this works because I heard almost everyone from anywhere can vote for these awards so...

As far as who will win, I don't really have a strong opinion anyone actually. Whatever will be will be is my attitude. But this show is so unpredictable. Right now I'm thinking Raymond Lam & Moses Chan will each win a Best Actor award whether it be the Original TVB one or the Mainland one. I'm kinda think it will be the same way with Gigi Lai (who just exploded into the votings because of her role in The Ultimate Crime Fighter), and Lee Si Kei. Wouldn't be wild if Fala Chen, Bernice Liu, or Linda Chung out of nowhere takes home the Best Actress award? We'lll just have to wait & see...

Where Did All The Time Go?

Is anyone still here?
Time took a toll on my life. Despite what it looks like I really love TVB Generation. I really want to revive it, because right now it's basically dead. I'm thinking about starting over fresh in December, but we'll see how it goes.

I kept an eye on the TVB world and surprsingly it's amazing quiet. Not much to talk about. My eyes candies are still there looking good as ever, and the series keeps on coming and going. Heart of Greed really sucked out all the life out of 2007. So much that I just want 2008 to come.

I'm looking forward to the TVB Anniversary Award Show, and Celebration. It's gonna be great. Regardless of the winners I'm sure I will enjoy the show. I must say, watch out for Fala Chen & Stephen Huynh. I read they are raking in the most money among the supporting class actors for TVB Management so they might give them each an award to kept them happy when it comes time for a contract renewal. I think Lee Si Kei or Susanna Kwan will win Best Actress. I think Linda will win Female Favorite Character for HOG (Personally I found Seung Joi Sam hella annoying when I finished the series. I wanted to drop kick her in the jaw but whatever...). If anyone ever makes me rewatch that whole "Days Without Seung Joi Sam" bull I'LL SHANK YOU! I swear it's the most annoying gimmick ever... And oh yeah, Moses for Best Actor of course!!

Did anyone see the TVB Jade SInger's Celebration? It was fairly entertaining. Raymond Lam looked very uncomfortable among the singers though. I think he doesn't know alot of the singers since he's an established actor who just got started singing so his circle of singer friends isnt that big yet.

The Drive of Life is actually pretty good, I don't see what people about this series. Charmaine Sheh's character very intriguing. She's more of a Vixen than a Villain. Father & Sons is very good. Watching Bobby Au-Yeung & Wong Hei together gives off a feel like I'm watching classic 90's TVB.

I Just Watched The 40th Lighting Ceremony

The Show was fairly entertaining. I guess the award season festivities officially kicked off. The nominations are out so start voting. Some notable things I noticed from the show...

*Tavia Yeung is finally getting the recognition she deserves. Standing next to Gigi Lai being parallel to Myolie in ranking and getting a better position than Linda Chung. In my opinion she deserves more attention than Linda. She's been around since the time of Michelle Ye, & Myolie in Eternal happiness and even before that. This is highest status she has recieved at a lighting ceremony. Bravo Tavia!
*Bosco Wong still has his permed/curled hair. At least now we know it's out of his personal choice and not for his role in WOIL 2007 like everyone speculated.
*The Cast of Steps did an amazing job with their performace.
*I Liked the Part when we got to see some previews and hear some input from the cast of this year's 3 anniversary series.
*Loretta Chow (This year's MHK 2nd Runner's Up) did an excellent job singing "Ain't No Other Man" by Christina Aguilera. Christina is a tough act to follow. She's not a pro singer or actor and it was brave of her to sing infront of so many artistes.

Phoenix Rising / The Hypocrisy Controversy

I Just Finished Phoenix Rising last night. I dont want to say any spoilers, but the ending is unbelievable. I was quite shocked at how everything went down. Krystal Tin, Louisa So, and Leila Tong all did an excellent job. In my opinion Louisa's villainess role far surpasses Susanna Kwan in Heart of Greed. And if it airs, Leila Tong will be the top contender for Most Improved. Krystal will probably grab a Best Actress nomination too.

I'm was so surprised when I logged on this morning. When I was reading the C-Box there were alot of comments about a post on Metal's TVB Musing blog. I read everything including the post, and since there was a request for my opinion I'll briefly express what I think. Well, before I start I just want to say I support him on the fact that it's his blog & he can say what ever he wants. I also posted a comment on his blog so dont worry I'm not going behind his back. My opinion is completely different from what he thinks though. I wont address his post directly because we are friendly affiliates and don't want people to mistake it as something else but I'll say this:

*In the past I have said I miss High School since graduation. But in the last few weeks of College I have said I dont miss High School at all. I have also said I'm confident I'll get an A+ in my Eastern Culture class, but just yesterday I said to a friend I just hope i can get a B in that class. Does that make me a hypocrite? No way. These statements are Contradictions not Hypocrisy. These contradictions come as a result of many possible things like a change of hearts or a lost of confidence.

*A Hypocrisy comes with a proclamation, and an action in 99.9% of the time. For example, I say to everyone I'm against fur & I condemn it because it's murder. Yet I take the action to go out and buy a fur coat I thought was pretty to wear to a Gala. That would make me a hypocrite. Two statements that contradict doesn't add up to a hypocrisy in my opinion.

That's all I have to say. It's my two cents, take it or leave. I have some major Homework to do. Stay cool people!!

Parallel Yet Unparallel

I've been away for a while now and once again i'm really sorry. But it is what it is, I can try my best to update when I can. ;)

Although I've been away I've kept an eye what's going on in the entertain biz. I've found things that are parallel on some level with the TVB world, but in a way kind of unparallel as well.

LEAVE CHARMAINE SHEH ALONE!!!! You guys have probably seen the Chris Crocker video a.k.a. LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!! It's like almost everywhere I go now the Charmaine bashing is rampid. It's mostly criticism for her acting in DOL and people blaming her for the low ratings. Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with her acting. Personally I think alot of people are just jumping on the band wagon. I'm absolutely dying to see if anyone would post a video as a satire to Charmaine! If they do, I guarantee you he'll end up all over the Hong Kong news.

Just to be clear though I in no way am saying Charmaine is Britney Spears. Britney is complete mess. Charmaine has her act together, as a matter of fact she's probably one of the most well structured actress at TVB right now. I applaude how she's handling everything with grace. Hence why there is some unparallelism (Is this even a word lol).

Scandalous! Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical was caught in a scandal where nude photos of her were uncovered. It reminded of Yoyo Chen who was rumor to Ms.A the mysterious actress who had revealing clip of her revealed. This is unparaellel because Vanessa's career is actually going up because Hollywood loves scandals while Yoyo's career is going down hill because TVB is conservative.

ARRGGHHHH!! This series is so frustrating to watch! Don't get me wrong though, it's a briliant series. I heard Great reviews for the series so I rented it. The storyline is very well crafted. The characters are well developed. I watch Krytal Tin alot in movies, and I think she's amazing in PR. I'm on episode 12. So far here's how I feel.

I Think That...
Krystal Tin's Character Is Gulliable.
Louisa So's Character Is EVIL!
Leila Tong's character is Foolish/Semi-annoying at times.

It's frustrating to watch because of everything that goes on is just so... uhhh... I don't know how to describe it.. People who saw it probably know what I mean. It glorifies the theme of brutal survival of the most cunning similar to War & Beauty in my opinion. I hear the ending is "Breathtaking & Not Like Any Other Endings" so I'm curious to see how it turns out. Please don't blurt out any spoilers.

Just a side note, is just me or Louisa So looks "slightly" older than Krystal Tin. I thought it was strange Krystal was the older sister of the two. Also, Leila's character Sophie is only suppose to be like 3-4 years younger than Louisa & Krystal yet Leila looks like she's 10-12 years younger.

I had some free time today in the Library so I catched up a little on what's going on in the TVB world. Here are random news & thoughts that were running through my head.

* "The Ultimate Crime Fighter" will air October 8th according to Kevin's official site. This means it's technically not an Anniversary series since an anniversary has to start airing it's first episode in the month of November & before the 19th (The exact anniversary date). Tradition mandates one series must be ancient Ancient & Modern. I wonder which series will do the honor?

* Moses Chan will more than likely win Best Actor this year since they're airing his series a month before the anniversary giving him proper time to build up more popularity & hype going into the award show fresh off everyone's mind. I REALLY like Moses so I'm definitely very happy for him.

* I wonder how the structure of the casting for TUCF will be. Moses Chan & Yuen Biao are suppose to be leading actors but its apparent something came up with Yuen Biao, because his filming time was greatly down sized. Thus Kevin was added as a "Guest Star". On the female side, Gigi Lai & Yoyo Mung are the lead, but don't forget Maggie Shiu is a "Guest Star" as well. Raymond was a guest star in HOG & we all know how that turn out. *Cough* Stole the Show.

*From some of the previews pictures, the 2008 TVB Calendar will turn out very good.

*Forensic Heroes II started filming. Strangely Shirley Yeung popped out of nowhere & joined the cast. People were focus on Shirley & Charmaine because of their past rumors, but I could care less. I was more interested on why I didn't see Linda & Shirley even talk or take a picture together. (I personally havent seen any) When they were filming Always Ready & The Bitter Bitten they were photographed alot together. They seem like really good friends & I saw back stage clips of together at the TVB anniversary, but things seem cold between. I suspect they had a falling out.

I feel absolutely awful I haven't updated in this long. I was actually online checking my college e-mails, but I dare not even show my face up here. I felt so sad to see how the blog is just like abandoned now. In a way I really neglected it. I know, I'm the biggest cry baby in the world... Other webmasters have work or school too, but still can manage to update frequently like MetalAZNWarrior, SehSeh, ... Well, to be honest, I'm not as talented as them. College isn't so much difficult as it is hectic for me right. I had to file alot for tuition, but thank god my scholarships & grants finally kicked in. And of course there's the heavy work load, but I'm starting to adapt to it now. Right now I'm trying to get more hours at work when I have free time off from school so I can buy a laptop and update in between breaks from classes. Well, Best of luck to everyone who just started school too!

A New Chapter In Life

Life As I Know It has finally changed. I started college. Initially I was really nervous about it but I guess I calmed down a bit when the time actually came. The people in College are so different from High School. It's human nature for people to adapt to new surroundings, but a part of me doesn't want to change. Alot of people have changed though. The people who have changed are just people who are self conscious around so many people that they feel are better than them so they start to lose who they are to become someone they're not. I think I know exactly who I am and I hope to be the same girl with the same outlook on life. "Just be yourself" is probably the best quote to say.

In terms of TVB I would probably describe it as jump from "Heart of Fencing" to "The White Flame". HOF & Sunshine Heartbeat are really sweet mini-series that's about high school life and sports. I loved them when they came out because of their sentimental values. Now, I feel my life is like "The White Flame". If you remember the first part of the series was about Charmaine Sheh & Sammul Chan training to nurses at the training academy. It was just like college, they lived in dorms and they went through training classes. Most people don't even remember this series, but the first part of the series made a deep impression me. It's a spin off of Healing Hands and the storylines interconnected. Sammul Chan was the male lead. I think its funny when people say Sammul never lead a series before.

Anyways, I'm really in a state of shock at how much work college is. I really need some time to get used to it. I won't be updating as often anymore, but I'll do my best.

"Kawaii"

What exactly is "Kawaii"? Well, it's the Japanese word for "Cute". "Kawaii" is also part of popular culture in Asia influencing the way girls dress, wear make up, and even act. It has also evolve into a form of beauty in women's standard through out the world now. There's an attraction of two forms that is very mainstream. Women who are tall (5'7-5'11), slender, and posses a strong beautiful face are often label as "Couture" (French for High Fashion) and "Elegant". And now another form of beauty has taken over, girls who are maybe about 5'2-5'6 , with baby faces, and youthful personalities are labeled as "Kawaii" or "Cute".

So who I consider to be very "Kawaii" TVB artistes?

Vivien Yeo: I really like her. She has a baby doll face, and a sweet smile. Even though she's 5'9 her Kawaii side shines brighter. I wasn't at all surprise Japanese producers and advertisers were highly interested in her. I know people aren't accepting of her yet because of her Mandarin accent (She's Malaysian), but I don't mind. Diversity is a good thing, it would be a very boring world if everyone was the same.

Leila Tong: She was a child actor and now she's famous for great acting and of course her baby face. She always has a joyful look on her face, and a very youthful smile. Her innocent persona is another factor making her very Kawaii.

Selena Li: She has a honey sweet face, and exude cuteness. Her soft spoken personality, and alluring look are also reasons why she is Kawaii.

Shirley Yeung: It's my opinion that this girl never ages. Since winning Miss Hong Kong 2001 she still looks like hasn't aged a day. Her innocent smile with dimples, and her baby doll eyes are the main traits that make her very Kawaii.

Tavia Yeung: Youthful face, fun personality, plus the alluring look in her eyes make her very Kawaii in my opinion.

Others: Besides them there are others I quite Kawaii like Nancy Wu, Yoyo Chen (Ironically name 'Kawaii' in The Best Selling Secret), and Suki Chui (I find her just kind of Kawaii, but not really that much). Who do you guys find Kawaii?

The Family Link/The Green Grass of Home/A New Breath of Love

Currently I'm watching these three series. No, really I'm just watching The Green Grass of Home & A New Breath of Love along with On The First Beat. I finished The Family Link already. I'll save my opinions on "OTFB" for another as I miss out on one part of the series that I will have to go back and watch.

The Family Link: Sheren Tang was truly right when she said some people will not understand this series completely. You really have to put yourself in their position to understand the hardship of being a housewives in Hong Kong. It's so ironic that this series aired alongside with Heart of Greed because the storylines are on opposite ends of the spectrum. The HOG family fought over a $600 million fortune, while the TFL's families fought to make ends meet. The storyline was interesting, it was basically based on Women in search of something important to them in someway.

Sheren's character was In Search of Stability.
Cecilia Yip's character was In Search of Vanity.
Kiki Sheung's character was In Search of Harmony.
Leila Tong's character was In Search of an Answer.

Out of all the storylines I found Kiki Sheung's story to be most interesting, I was touched by it. the story I found least interesting was Sheren & Michael's. Michael's Tse's cross dressing dilemma got really daft really soon. On a personal note, my mom loves this series and absolutely hated Heart of Greed because she said HOG was dillusion. I don't know if it's because of her influence, but I like TFL more HOG.

The Green Grass of Home: I love this series! Christine Ng really shines in this series. Her storyline is so interesting, especially in the beginning with her workplace & people stabbing her in the back. I hope by the end of the series she gets revenge on all of them. Her hair & fashion in this series is perfection. Isn't it also so ironic that in this series Kingdom Yuen's family can't seem to get along if their life depended on it and Kingdom was also in Welcome To The House & their family was so Happy Go Lucky. It's sad to say the Christine's family reflect most of the family I know. I'm looking to forward see what will happen next.

A New Breath of Love is the mainland series Raymond Lam did before he film Heart of Greed. Despite what some may think, there are more artists I like other than just Kevin Cheng that I would rent a whole non-TVB series to watch them. Raymond Lam is now one of them, before that there was Michelle Ye, Ada Choi, etc. Anyways, I really like this series. It revolves around so many relationships and how in way or another they interconnect. The sceneries in this series is ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING. Shanghai is so beautiful.

.: One Thing They All Have In Common is Cheating Men In Their Storyline :.

A Wise Woman By The Name of Samantha Jones From Sex & The City Once Said...
"Men cheat for the same reason Dogs lick their balls... Because they can ."

Well, all three of these series cheating men seem to be part of the theme. In The Family Link Al Wai cheated on Kiki Sheung with a younger women while abandoning his family. SOmewhat true to the saying "Love stops at 50. Once the boobs drop, the loving stops." In The Green Grass of Home cheating men were everywhere. Savio Tsang cheated on his wife with Leanne Li, Evergreen Mak cheated on Kingdom Yuen with Sherming Yiu, and Joel Chan cheated on Suki Chui with Chan Man Yuen. In A New Breath of Love, Raymond Lam's character to be me was somehwat of a scumbag. He's a player they toy with girl's feelings. I'm on episode 18, I really hope Tammy Chen finds out he has girlfriend and dumps him soon.

Its seems like every year when an Artists celebrates a Birthday or Chinese New Year they ask for good Health. Being in my youth & never really had a major illness I was naive enough to think "why would they ever ask for that?" I always thought they should ask for Wealth & Popularity. In recent years & presently my Health have been not so good due to some moderate conditions, I finally realize why TVB Stars are so keen on Health.

We really don't give TVB Stars enough credit. I find them to be more than just "actors who read scripts" as some people see them. They're really wise people with great perspective on life. I really admire Maggie Cheung Ho Yee. Before she was diagnosed with her Thyroid Disease I found her to be a great actress, but she had a rough personality of course because of her "Fued" with Jessica Hsuan, Kenix Kwok, & Charmaine Sheh. Now I see as a changed person. She had Wealth & Popularity and her Health force her to take a near 2 years leave.

Although I always say I hope she comes back soon and film TVB Series I feel now she should put her Health first. She looks like she has fully recovered base on pictures but we can never know for sure. Her disease seems to be very serious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thyroid_disease. I can definitely see the disease has taken a toll on her. I hope she regains her health soon.

After downloading Mr. Hong Kong 2007 in High Quality I noticed there seem to be something uneven about Maggie's appearance. Besides her softer voice I couldn't pin point what it was until now. When she looked into the camera I notice she has become "cross eyed". Is this just me? Does anyone else see it?

Maggie also was known for bust and curves after her endorsement for "LF", the beauty enhancement company that was started by Marianne Chan Miu Ying. (Also recently famed Maggie Shiu for her curves.) Anyways, I remember Natalie Tong mentioning she wish she could have curves like Maggie Cheung. However, if you watch Mr. HK you can see she's almost completely flat and is no longer the near "D" cup advertise in magazines for "LF".

I'm most exited over one series that will start filming soon. Forensic Heroes 2! Filming is scheduled to start about early or mid September.

The Addition To The Cast

Joining the leading cast will be Charmaine Sheh & Kevin Cheng. (FH2 is dubbed as the modern version of Witness To A Prosecution so Charmaine is would be an interesting addition since she was in WTAP II.) Also keep an eye out a fresh group supporting actors as victims & culprits. Since artistes like Fala Chen, Lai Lok Yi, Natalie Tong, Charmaine Li, ... all appeared in "one shot" roles in the original they more than likely won't return. I predict fresh faces like Suki Chui, Matthew Ko, Stephen Huynh, Tracy Ip, & Sharon Luk will join.

Buzz/Rumors/Speculations

35 or 40 Episodes? Earlier sources said 35, but now I'm hearing 40 being thrown around. I prefer 40, but I'm afraid it might get dragged out.

Frankie Lam's Role Will Be Smaller? Based on politics inside the company once again. When the original was filmed he was still under TVB Management, now he's not, at one time he even considered filming for ATV & I-Cable against TVB so...

Linda's Role Will Be Greatly Bigger? Things have changed since the original. her popularity has risen even higher than Yoyo so will she be leading over her like in HOG?

Will Charmaine & Kevin play villains? Still up for debate. Wouldn't it be interesting if one played a good character and emerged as a stone cold villain in the end? OH WAIT, Kevin & Charmaine already had roles like that in The Ultimate Crime Fighter/Heavenly Sword & Dragon Sabre 2000. So I hope it doesn't happen because it just wouldn't be fresh.

<3 The Age of Love

"Are You Old Enough To Know Age Doesn't Matter?"

"The Age of Love" is a TV Show that just finished airing here in the U.S. It had concept slightly different of other Reality/Love TV Shows. A 30 year old pro tennis player had to pick a love out of two groups of women. One group in their 20's with the youngest being 21, and another group in their 40's with the oldest being 48. The show wasn't highly rated because viewers just was not interested, because they all knew he would go for the younger woman. In the end, he chose a 25 year old over a 48 year old. Viewer's instincts were right.

The concept of "Age Doesn't Matter" is very popular these days. However, contrary to what you might have thought this post was about, I believe Age Does Matter. Hence the oxymoron opening question. Through the last few series in recent years which feature older woman/younger man relationship a new phrase was coined, "Big Sister" relationships. I think its total BULL, and everytime I hear it I thing its the stupidest thing ever. What kind of world do we live in where we say we're open to these types of relationships, but we call women who are in it "Big Sisters" like its incest or something. Though these relationships are made mainstream by movies, tv series, etc. but in reality there aren't that many of these type of relationships, and barely any of them ever work out. In La femme Desperado, Raymond Lam & Melissa Ng were in a 'Big Sister' relationship, but in real life Melissa's secret husband is confirmed to be older than her, and Ray's current rumor girlfriend (Linda Chung) is actually younger than him.

With so much limelight shinning on the 'big sister' relationship people lose sight of the traditional older male/younger female relationship. These marriages have actually been the most successful. The fact is all women is do not like looking old. When your husband looks younger than you, then it simply makes you feel old & look old. Men also age alot slower than women, they "mature" & look more rugged while women just simply get older. Besides that you have to admit, older men have more mature perspectives and have their priorities straight. When you're a young girl dating someone 5-10-15 years older than you seems like you'll never do, but I've learn as you age & meet more people who have experience with love you'll be more familiar with the concept because it will be common. Women seem to be more comfortable in these relationships.

Any Celeb. "Big Sister" relationships will be brought to attention nomatter what's the difference, 2-4 years is all it takes to cause a stir. But when it comes to the opposite, not even a 12 year or up difference will matter. Here are examples of some true relationship & trustworthy rumor relationships in the HK entertainment circle. There are just so many of these, we'll be here until tomorow if I named all.

My Name Is Fame

After watching so many HK Variety shows I had an overwhelming feeling to write this post.

I was wondering how desirable Fame is in the eyes of people entering the entertainment industry? I'll be the first to admit I dreamed of being a TVB artists, but I woke up to reality. Back in the day, you only had about maybe three possible ways of entering Show Business or as its better known as "showbiz". But specifically to enter TVB, you either entered a pageant, TVB's acting class, or you have some sort of connection. These days, there are billions of ways to enter with new Variety shows & competition like Minute To Fame, Beautiful Cooking, etc. We even have a Mr. Hong Kong for men now. This is a dream for TVB because they will always need hosts for small shows, and extras on the set.

Winners of these shows, and finalists who got the attention of the press will usually get their 15 minutes of fame as a jump start to their career, but other seem to be stuck doing minor jobs. I see so many pretty Miss Hong Kong contestants fail to win the title, but still pursue an acting career. I see most for about a year before they completely disappear. The truth is I think you need to rise above and beyond to survive. I saw so many talented Mr. HK contestants who excel but they still failed, because in the end only 1 person can win.

Its just pitiful to watch TVB's "Deal or No Deal". Not because there are people are really desperate for the money winnings, but also the girls in the show. They're known as the Deal or No Deal girls, formally refered to as "Kam Tin Siu Jze". I recognize every single of them. They're either Miss Hong Kong contestants who didn't win or TVB extras or character actors. I know that some of these girls are University graduates from MHK, but its weird to see them putting everything aside to pursue fame. It's such a shame that TVB uses this show as a "dumping ground" where they unload all their cheap labor who are in search of fame. I would be really happy to one of them make it to the top.

If I were them would really envy actresses like Linda Chung, Fala Chen, Suki Chui, ... They are so lucky to recieve the blessing and support of TVB. I think to successful you should be in it for FAME and not Money. Be persistent and patient. Most importantly be confident, walk into the TVB studio like "you're walking through hell in gasoline soaked pajamas."

Mr. Hong Kong will be held this Saturday. Expect a VIP List of Guest female celebs as usual from actresses to models. It will be Hosted by Carol (Dodo) Cheng, Maggie Cheung Ho Yi, & Anna Yau.

Meet TVB's New Signing! Lucky #7 Benjamin Yuen has the press obssessed with him. Particularly The Apple Daily & The Sun who seems to be in love with him. They even digged up his Friendster, and I have no idea why they zoomed into his nipple so don't even ask me. I really like him, he looks like a mix between Deric Wan & Daniel Wu, and in video he looks like a Donnie Yen look alike. They think he will win, because it seems like the last few years the winners are all English speakers. Regardless, he's pretty much guaranteed a contract with TVB.

#10 Raymond Sin the Kenneth Ma look alike is also a hot door. I admit he does resemble Kenneth. Raymond seems to be a very lucky name to have in the entertainment industry in Hong Kong so he might have luck on his side.

(Rivals is basically TVB-G Showdown without me choosing a winner but rather giving my opinion.)

So why are Bosco Wong & Kenneth Ma Rivals? You would think other current popularity holders to young girls like Ron Ng & Raymond Lam would Bosco's rival, and you would think Sammul Chan is Kenneth's rival, but why did I put them against each other?

Just think about it. How many actors get the chance to move up in the ranks of leading actors? Not many, Bosco Wong moved up last year with Devil's Disciple & The Price of Greed, which initially was both warehoused. A shaky start to being a leading actor, he then went back into his Supporting Actor phase in Dicey Business & The Gem of Life. He's currently filming WOIL II, which is dominated by the female cast. Kenneth Ma ventured into the leading class with support and nominations from many producers, he lead Survivor's Law II & the new series with Leila Tong & Kate Tsui. He's currently filming The Four Constable, dominated by the male cast.

If Kenneth's leading series are successful, I think his career will go alot farther than Bosco. Honestly I like Kenneth alot more than Bosco. He has personality that is congenial, he's charming but not too over the top and he gives off a the feeling of humbleness. Bosco to me tries to hard to be funny & show off personality, and it comes off too strong. He gets annoying at times because it appears so immature. He should tone it down like Raymond, Kenneth, & Sammul and he'll be more congenial.

Kenneth will be more marketable in the long run, because he's never really been an actor who banked on teeny popularity. He's the oldest out of the Olympic Six, he's in his 30's already. If he can successfully prove his status as a leading actor then he'll move into the class of resident TVB leading actors like Moses Chan, Kevin Cheng, Steven Ma, Bowie Lam, Roger Kwok, etc. and not having to worry about moving back to supporting. That's my opinion, call me biase if you want but that's what I think.

The Cast of Devil's Disciple delivers yet another "interesting" picture. I ran into this picture while looking through Kevin's Baidu. I got a good laugh out of it, its just a priceless picture. That's James in the middle, he's the Thai singer who sang with Kevin & Bosco for the Thai theme for Devil's Disciple. He looks like he's alittle clueless and feels ackward about what's happening. I can see why some fans see a "Brokeback Mountain" chemistry between enough to make a Music Video about them. It was posted on C-Box just a while back. I heard the The Apple Daily was spotlighting it.

The video is described as "A totally made up love interest between Bosco and Kevin... gay, but funny... a double dose of charm.". The editing is really clever, if I didn't watch [DD] & wasn't so intuned to the TVB world I would have believe it 110%. I'm very open minded so I actually found the video to be very cute, especially the part with the snow.

To Live With No Regret

I've regret doing many things in my life, and not doing many things in my life. One thing I regret is my experience in High School. When I was still in High School I really dreaded coming to school everyday and I was always looking forward to college. Even when it came to the last weeks of school I skipped Fridays just to avoid waking up early. Now I really miss High School, I've met so many great people there, had so many fond memories. It was just simple time in my life where I lived the carefree life. Although there were the usual High School drama, but I never really cared. Looking back I can laugh about many things like having a crush on a teacher Sophmore year, he was this really cute 25 year old teacher who just graduated. He was half asian so he would always sees me as someone he could talk too. There were a couple of moments of "Love" & so many crushes, but lets not talk about that. I would really give anything to relive the last couple days of High School over again.

Maybe all these feelings are just fears of me not being able to adapt to college completely yet. People in High School cared about me, while the people in College like the staff really seem to be just out to be making money. I'm glad the students are still friendly though. But I'm 110% sure I'll miss college when I graduate, because I missed every stepping stone so far in my life, Elementary School, Junior High, High School...

I've realize over time I've change alot from the girl I used to be. When I started TVB Generation I was only 16. I was juggling High School life, and I thought I had it hard. I was so naive and wrong. I went from blogging about trashing TVB stars, to having a full spirit of creativity making new features for the blog. Since then my spirit died down with life being so busy & hectic. But I realized whenever I blog I feel like the girl I was when I was in my Junior year of High School. Its mix feelings of sadness, reliving the "old times", with some happiness. As more people read my blog, and the more affiliates I make I see have fast time has past.

Some things I regret not doing in High School is knowing my School's Alma Matta, Not wearing any school T-Shirts unless I had to, and baiscly not living it to the fullest. Now I know why so many people love watching High School theme classic movies like "Never Been Kissed" & "Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion". Hopefully I can change the many things I regret ten years from now at High School reunion.

I know this wasn't really a TVB post, but I was something I really wanted to get off my chest. Thanks for reading!

TVB-G Fashion Double Vision

Bitter Sweet: Its been about over half a year I think since I did a Fashion Double Vision. I really like this feature, and I know alot of people like it too, but it has become so difficult. Its almost like artists know that people are spotlighting them wearing the same stuff so they do their best to avoid it. Here's some findings that I found.

Jessica Hsuan & Sonjia Kwok: Sonjia Kwok wore this dress at this year's Miss Hong Kong in her stage appearance. I knew the dress looks familar but I couldn't pin point who wore it before. Suddenly I remebered Jessica Hsuan wore it two years ago at TVB's 38th Anniversary in 2005. I personally I don't have a favorite on who looks better on it, but I like Jessica's neclace better & Sonjia's bracelet better as well. I must say wearing a the same dress two years after the original appearance is a big fashion DON'T in the entertainment industry.

TVB Artists Vs. Hong Kong Top Models: What happens when TVB artists wear the same clothes as the Models who are paid grandly to wear them for a living. Models look better in these clothes almost 90% of the time because they're so tall. These dresses were probably sponsored to the TVB artists.
Sharon Chan Vs. Kathy Chow Man Kei: Sharon Chan wore this dress when the Lady In Red CD first came out. Kathy Chow is of course known as Hong Kong's highest paid model, and Niki's sister. I think Kathy looks better in this. Not because of the height though, because Kathy is only taller than Sharon by .25 inch (Sharon-5'8.75 / Kathy-5'9). I think Kathy looks better in it because her hair is down and styled very nicely. This dress looks better with hair worn down not up.

Gaile Lok Vs. Bernice Liu: Bernice wore this dress at last year's TVB Artist's Party. Gaile Lok is Leon lai's girlfriend and is currently ranked the #1 model in Hong Kong. I actually like it better on Gaile, it looks like a better fit to her body, while it looks a little "baggy" on Bernice. Once again I think it has to do with the height, Gaile is 5'8.5 while Bernice is 5'7. This a Fendi couture dress. By the way, that's Lisa S. (Selesner) standing next to Gaile, she's Daniel Wu's girlfriend, she's really tall, about 5'11.

Sonjia Kwok Vs. Ana R.: Sonjia wore this dress at last year's TVB Artist's Party as well. Ana R. (Rivera) is one of Hong Kong current top model. She's famous for dating someone name Mr. Chow, who looks to me like a young playboy with plenty of cash to spare. Ana wore this same dress with an added decorative pendant at a Nokia function. I think it looks better on Ana once again because of the height, her dress is complimented by her elongated neck. (Ana-5'9.5 / Sonjia-5'6).

Father & Sons/TVB Weekly Pictorial

Next To Be Aired on TVB will be Father & Sons after Devil's Disciple ends this week on the 8:35 Time Slot. This TVB's counter defense against ATV's Grand Production "Return Home" starring Adam Cheng. They are bringing in their rating's lucky charm Bobby Au-Yeung. The storyline obviously will be about Father and Sons, so the male cast will dominate this series.
Last year there was La Femme Desperado (The Heavily Female Influenced Series), and then Men In Pain (The Heavily Male Influenced Series) which was terrible. This year The Family Link is heavily female influenced, now comes Father & Sons. Lets just hope its nothing like Men In Pain.

The Ensemble Cast: Bobby Au-Yeung, Wong Hei, Ha Yu, Yoyo Mung, Tavia Yeung, Anne Heung, Evergreen Mak, Halina Tma, Lai Lok Yi, etc.

Cover Boys: I lost track of which issue is new and which is new, but I think this one was recently published before the Miss Hong Kong winners issue. I really like the pictures in this issue, HOT! I'm used to Kevin being very clean cut, but he looks pretty sexy with facial hair for his new series "Walking With The Enemy". Some Show Gags From Current Series Airing In Hong Kong, "On The First Beat" took quite a "Beating" in the newspaper during its airing with several articles bringing gags from the show like Michael Miu's killer from "The Academy" is now a police in the sequel. I don't know how they notice these stuff but it seems to be a trend now to spotlight these gags, people who realize them probably get something like a free Apple Daily T-Shirt.

Devil's Disciple: Before it even aired in Hong Kong it was pointed out Wayne Lai spoke English saying the word "Round", but Producer Lau Kar Ho (Also Heart of Greed's Producer) said he said "Waan". Now its pointed in the scene where Kevin's character King Lui is imprisoned a Sound Microphone appears onscreen, while in another scene while Kevin is on a boat a camera with antenna & microphone also appears onscreen.

The Drive of Life: I'm not watching this series yet so I'm a little unclear of what's going on, but apparently in the 7th episode Michael Wong's character is holding a magazine and its suppose to be 1994. One problem, you can see Joey Yung in the back cover, the picture is from her 2003 ad for a slimming company. Viewers don't understand how it can be since Joey was only in like Secondary School in 1994.

Not 100% clear about this one either since I'm not watching but apparently in the 8th episode of TDOL the Electricity and Water goes out, but the fan in the background is blowing almost as loud as the woman talking.

War & Beauty Vs. Heart of Greed

In The Past Few Years I would say the two Most Critically Acclaimed Dramas are War and Beauty & Heart of Greed. So which is better? I'm not even going to beat around the bushes, I personally think War & Beauty is alot better. The Script for War & Beauty is very solid and very well written while Heart of Greed to me goes through some dragging effect due to some un-needed dialogues and of course the 90 billion scenes of Linda and Raymond bickering & fighting. I was on the edge of my seat watching War & Beauty through out the entire series. On the other hand, Heart of Greed has parts where it gets sketchy like in the beginning 10 episodes which was basically "zzzzZZZZ....". The characters in WAB are more well developed while HOG's characters seem to stop short in terms of them being believable.

The Storyline in WAB stick to together like glue, while HOG has its occasional plot holes. Like when Linda first was interviewing for the job at Raymond's office and she see a picture of him and girl with a baby. She thinks he's married but turns out she's his sister. Then why wasn't she included in all his flash backs dealing with his family troubles? She looks like she's about maybe 5 years older than Ray so you can say she's like off at college, the family doesn't seem like the have the money to send her anywhere. When Raymond's character [Spoilers-Highlight]: died in a car accident Linda told the Doctor & the Cops he has no other family members. I was like WTH? This was brought up in several forums, so much for a "great script"...

I think The Cast basically amounts to the same Star Power. HOG just looks like its so big because they stuff the poster with almost everyone in the cast. By the way, why is Bosco infront of Raymond, Linda, Susanna Kwan, or even Lee Si Kei, Ha Yu, or Michelle Yim? His role was smaller than them and had less screentime. If they could WAB could have added more artistes to the poster like Jade Leung, Kenny Wong, Rebecca Chan, etc.

Reading This you can probably see that I favor WAB alot more just simply because I feel its an Absolutely Spectacular series, while my feeling towards HOG is that its a good series, very enjoyable but its not like "OMG, its the GREATEST SERIES EVER!" like people say. The ending seem like they went easy on it in preparation for a Happily Ever After ending, I didn't buy it nor did I liked it, at all.

Cleaning

I really need to clean up the site. Can't believe it will be August on Wednesday, just about three more months until the TVB Anniversary, YAY, time flies. Anyways, I really need to fix up the site, I've neglected to do so for months. The phone and avatar has been up since Chinese New Years how sad is that? And the Top Searches is god knows how old. I don't think I can ever leave this Layout entirely since I had it for so long, I don't think I can go through with it, its like giving up my baby. Plus, site items like Viet Releases update wouldn't look right on any other layout. I guess I'll spend some time tomorrow tweaking up the site tomorrow hopefully I can finish by Tuesday. I'll see what I can do, I'm feeling a Fashion Show Theme would be cool after watching MHK.

TVB & Hong Kong's "Housing Projects"

Just a spark of curiosity, what's the big deal with living in "Housing Projects" in Hong Kong. I notice TVB made a couple of series where the stories intertwine with living in the "housing projects".
In Life Made Simple Roger Kwok and Jessica Hsuan's character both lived in a "housing project community". Jessica's character seem to really bother living there, and she made it her business to do anything to get out of there. When she wanted to marry Bosco's character his mom looked down on her for living there. I must admit the housing from this series was pretty bad, but the housing project community in The Family Link looked good, similar to one in the picture above. Yet people still looked down on Sheren Tang, Cecilia Yip, Kiki Sheung's character alot in the beginning. Their houses look like an apartment complex or condos over here in the States. And really the "Projects" or better known as "The Ghetto" in the U.S. are 100 times worse.
So what kind of housing would be considered respectable in Hong Kong? The mansion in The Brink of Law? By the way, that mansion estate in that series, which I've seen before in some movies is like a dream house for me. I really want to live in Hong Kong one day, and I think the type of house in the Family Link looks like a good starter home for someone who just moved there and has only "starter budget". Would it be accurate to say a respectable housing community in Hong Kong would be the one liek in Welcome To The House? Whatever, just curious.

Miss Hong Kong 2007 Is.... #3 William Hung! Oh wait actually its #3 Kayi Cheung: The press recently described the newly crowned MHK Kayi Cheung as being a William Hung and Urshula Wong look alike. I actually notice the William Hung thing a while back. I finally set out to explore this a little further. Here are my findings... I'll be nice, Kayi is slightly better looking, but the resemblance is definitely there... The ironic thing is a William Hung quote was used in this year's show.

HK Sex & The City: For Some Reason Halina Tam & her Fiancee remind me of Carri Bradshaw & Mr. Big from Sex &amp; The City. Halina & Sarah Jessica Parker seem to have that look, while Mr. Big played by Chris Noth have the same persona as her fiancee in real life. Mr. Big is a player in the show, while Halina's fiancee is known as The Miss Hong Kong killer because he has dated many MHK's like Anne Heung.

The Threat of Love II

One thing I like about my video rental store is that they still do VHS rentals. It comes at a cheaper price plus once and a while the VHS tape they recorded over contain parts of another series at the end. Its great to see old series to just rewatch parts again, and sometimes I get series I never seen before which sparks my interests in watching it. I always wanted to watch The Threat of Love II a.k.a. Loving You II, but every video store I go doesn't carry it anymore. I was able to watch one episode that wasn't recorded over yesterday.

Loving You II-"This TVB series consists of ten individual tales dealing with various aspects of human relationship, love and sex. Every story has its own theme. The Threat of Love uses a romantic and heartwarming way to tell stories of modern day relationships, bringing out the delicate and fragile emotions in a realistic manner." So basicly its ten short stories that tackle taboo subjects like fedility, love/money, sexual orientations, and of course sex itself. The episode I watched was about condoms and I was so surprise that TVB was open enough to make a storyline about it. The sex talk was open too, Shirley Yeung's character openly asked for sex from Kevin Cheng saying "Come on, love me like you did this morning", and he responded "I'm tired, you don't understand a man must use up and give off alot more than a woman". I was so surprise to hear that from a TVB series. There were other "open" dialogues even from Sir Chung King Fai.

The Ensemble Cast would be considered a Grand Production cast by today's standard with artists like Nancy Sit, Sheren Tang, Lawrence Ng, Kevin Cheng, Sir Chung King Fai, and Shirley Yeung. Since 2002 (The Year of Production) Sheren, Kevin, and Shirley has had a surge in popularity. The cast is a HUGE reason why I want to watch it. Each cast member has to play 10 different characters somewhat giving the cast of Maiden's Vow a run for their money. The series has mixed reviews, people over 30 don't seem to be very fond of it.

Does any one know where I can watch it online?? In any languages will be fine, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Spanish, French, Hungarian...... I just want to watch it so bad!! :(

Mahjong!

Love This Picture! I find it so amusing and relaxing, filming doesn't seem so bad as what we hear. At least they have enough spare time to play mahjong. I somehwhat envy them, I really want to have leisurely time like that playing Mahjong. I LOVE MAHJONG! Sadly my family is like most families in the U.S. are, really living a fast paste life. They're the "I'll meet you guys back here around 8:00" type so we don't sit down and play stuff like this. Only one of my friends knows how to play, can you imagine how sad of a game that would be. But I have a game on my computer call "Hong Kong Mahjong", which is even more sad when you think about it...

The most fun I've ever seen anyone have with Mahjong was in Virtues of Harmony I with Bondy Chiu, Cutie Mui, Joyce Chen, & Yvonne Lam. Personally, I thought their chemistry was built on Mahjong.

Bosco Wong's Very Questionable Fashion Style

I Haven't Commented On Anyone's Fashion In a Long While. It finally took Bosco Wong to lure me out of my cave. It has come to my attention his fashion taste has become the subject of conversations. Some of which really offends me, people call his style "Gay". A family member of mine is gay, and he has gone through so much under this society of tough scrutiny. I think people shouldn't use the word gay in describing how someone dresses in a negative manner, in example Bosco. I would definitely not use gay to describe his fashion taste.

Anyways, the picture that pushed me to commenting his fashion is the picture at the far top. I've seen alot from Bosco including things like leather leg boots, jacket, and cap with a purple stripe shirt to a pink & white combination outfit with what look's like a woman's blouse. Of course he also had his share of floral shirts and pants or stuff I dare not save to my computer, but that outfit had to be brought to attention. You have to draw a line somewhere, that line should be somewhere between a man and a woman. He wore at last week's JSG, it looked like an explosion of bad taste and bad hair in the women's section of a department store. The necklace and lite violet inner top just made things worse. Not to me mean, but that's the worse hairstyle I've ever seen on a man. Do you guys know if its just curled or did he get a perm?

Now that is out of the way and we're completely frank and honest about things, I hope the whole calling him gay will end.

ATV Is Lame

lol, ATV is really pulling out the big guns now. I heard they're airing a Grand Production just to show some force and not lose face during the Drive of Life fever. Which I didnt get because they're airing it during the Devil's Disciple time slot. Supposively its because they heard fans are very critical of DD so they wanted to capitalize, how cowardly... I don't think DD is all that bad, it's OK, not the greatest but not the worst.

This series doesn't look appealing at all. I watch all 3 of ATV's most recent grand productions-Central Affairs, Central Affairs II, and No Turning Back so I was curious to see what's all the fuss is about. I can honestly I'm not interested at all. I liked CA I & II, and No Turning Back, but I think I will definitely skip this for sure because I dont know anyone except for Adam Cheng.

Young artists usually lead over at TVB but over ATV lets just say its a different story. Just looking at the pictures makes me feel young.... By the way, I keep on hearings ATV is recruting artist with a HUGE budget, if they have so much money why are their production 90% of the time so crappy? Most of the storylines are poor, the lighting is bad, the video quality isn't clear, and the directing is bad too.

Last Words on MHK 2007 I Swear

Just a couple more words on Miss Hong Kong 2007 and I'll shut up I promise. I watched the show, I still think the Winner Kayi Cheung is ugly. This disappoints so bad, because I've been watching MHK since I was little, and its a dream to alot of young girls, but seeing someone like her win shatters not only to my way of thinking but I'm sure to others as well. She didnt even perform that well, and her interview wasn't even that good. The girl has a ginormous bun face. I know I'm being so mean, but I'm sorry... When she relinquish her title next year she should include "Participating in MHK has taught me nobody is ever too ugly to be Miss Hong Kong". Watching the show I must say it was running through my mind that MHK that appeared like Anne, Sonjia, Shirley, Mandy, Kate, Tracy, & Aimme look like devine godesses compared to her.

The Show itself was AMAZING! I loved this year's show. I was a complete rip-off of the Victoria Secret Fashion Show with all the backstage scenes and the fashion show/runway theme. At one point even wings were brought out. Well at least they copied and had a good show then try to be all original and got a boring one. This year's production was very entertaining.

The music was Awsome too. A great variety including songs from artists like Gwen Steffani, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, The Pussycat Dolls, etc... The music was very mainstream and reflect what a modern pageant is about.

Ok now I think I can shut up about it.

Miss HK 2007 Results

Winner: #3 Kayi Cheung- OMG!!! She's the UGLIEST Miss Hong Kong ever. She's one of the shortest too. She's barely 5'4. All the Pageant sites webmistresses do not seem to be please with the results at all. I cant believe it! The judges are blind. Now I must see the show to see how could she have possibly win.

The Seventh Day Poster: I feel slow because I didnt see the poster for the Seventh Day until this week. I like it, but I'm not sure which half people like better. I heard alot people say one side looks really good, but they dont say which one. Frankly, I absolutely hate the "Fall" side. It looks way too goofy, and childish. What's with the way Bosco is holding Natalie? If Natalie wasn't smiling it would look like she was being attack from behind. Come on, he's got her in a choke hold and she looks like she trying to get out of it, I've never seen any guy hold a girl like that. If a guy came behind me and did that I'll kick in the groin so hard he'll feel it a week from then. The dramatic "Winter" side is suppose look frosty and distress to reflect Kevin & Niki's storyline.

The reason its called the Seventh Day is because in the series Kevin and Bosco born on the seventh day of August. It's a story about how two people born on the same day lead very different lives hence the two sided poster. Bosco is a CEO of a coffee shop while Kevin is a drifter. There's two reason why TVB hasn't released it along with other series like The Ultimate Crime Fighter, Master of Tai Chi, etc. 1. It's bad and they haven't decided what to do with it yet. 2. Its really good and they want to save it for a special time like the TVB anniversary.

What Will Get You Farther In Life?

This Shallow World We Live In. I just don't get it anymore. Will exuding sex appeal really get you farther than you basicly doing what you're suppose to? I'm finding this to be the case in any working enviroment for most women. Sad to say, most women dont even need to show up to work on time anymore, just show up late wearing a bit more make-up and loosen up a few buttons on your blouse. I find it wrong but the women I work with tell me its the norm in almost every job that ever had, on top of that some of my closest friends do it too. I finally realized that I have done it also, when I do things like wear short skirts to interviews or talk in a flirtatous manner. It's something that I'm not proud of but its something I found to be very mainstream nowadays.

Even when you look at the entertainment industry with female artists these days. The news report on subjects like certain actresses stealing the limelight by wearing Deep-V blouses, or short shorts revealing their legs, etc. almost everyday

Recently there have been a surge of news and reports banking on actresses like Fala Chen. I must say short skirts, deep-V tops, and bikini shows brought Fala to the peak of her career. She's a leading actresses now. But Leanne Li on the other hand is alot more conservative, and you can see its not taking her career anywhere. They were both MCI winners of the same year but its just remarkable how far Fala is ahead of her. There are even reports that Leanne is now trying to dress more revealingly to go after jobs like Fala. Also hailing from MCI is Vivien Yeo who is also trying to shed her Girl Next Door look and go after a more sexually appealing image. Suki Chui is also a big part of this "era", I cant tell you how many times I've about her C-Cup. Its getting extremely repulsive, and the press goes crazy everytime she appears at a function wearing something even remotely revealing. Even Tracy Ip is rumour to have gotten breast enhancement, and going on dates with rich men.

The "good girls" seem to don't even stand a chance against these girls. The TVB Standings these days almsot resembles a "classic" High School social standings. Mandy Cho for example is completely cut off in terms of her work flow in series because its rumour when she came back from her studies in the U.S. TVB was not happy she left work for over 9 months. Its like god forbid she gets an education, I sympathize with her. Shirley Yeung is also rumour to be frozen because she's to open with her relationship, again its like god forbid she has a steady boyfriend.

Happy 777 Everyone! Sorry, I've been busy, hopefully things will get better at work.

Size Matter: Before you jump to conclusion, let me explain what this is. I got the idea from Vh1's All Access. It explores anatomies & features of celebs and their sizes. I found it to be an interesting show so I decided to do a TVB version.

Smallest Lips-Female: Small lips is define in many ways, of course it can be define as not as plump and usually women get collagen injections to enhaced that. It can also be define as small in terms of width. Some people find big lips sexy, and others find small ones cute, its all a matter of opinions. In terms of TVB artists I would say Linda Chung has the smallest followed by Annie Man.

Biggest Receeding Hairline-Male: I think we all know what a receeding hairline is. This is often time genetic. I would say Bobby Au-Yeung has the biggest followed by Bowie Lam.

Biggest Jawline-Female: A big jawline is also considered a strong jawline. A strong jawline is sometimes seen as a masculine feature, but some find it a flattering feature to the face because it makes it distinctive. The strongest jawline I've seen in terms of female artists is Bernice Liu's, followed by Sharon.

Biggest Jawline-Male: Once again, a big jawline is a strong jawline. A strong jawline is men usually comes with a very define chin. I personally find a strong jawline in men quite acttractive. The strongest I've seen in terms of male artists is Michael Miu, followed by Michael Tong.

First of all lets just acknowledge that Sitcoms are pointless, its made just for a short round of entertainment thats why I'm not too critical on them. I'm currently staying at my mom's house for a while and she's the one the rents videos. I was surprise to see she rented The Best Selling Secret. I never started watching it, I needed a little break after Welcome To The House.

To my surprise The Best Selling Secret was just what I need. A bit of lite humor with an interesting enough plot. Welcome To The House heavily focused on what was going on at home, on the other hand BSS focuses more on the workplace. I think TVB took the idea of The Office and ran with it. The characters have changed, and the of course its been given the whole TVB treatment.

Esther Kwan is strong enough to carry the entire female cast, but the Male leads is kinda lacking. I have no know idea who TVB has that is currently not filming anything that can add to the male cast. Anyways, it would be too late, because there is only about 40 episodes left of this sitcom. It most likely wont be renewed for another 120 episodes.

Catherine Tsang is the producer of this series. I think she did a really good job. I dont know how she juggles everything. She's one of TVB's top exucutives along with Stephen Chan, Virginia Lok, & Tommy Leung. On top of that she's also a manager, for those who dont know Catherine is Kevin Cheng's manager. I think TVB wanted her to take charge of this sitcom so she decided to be the producer too inorder to take full control.

TVB Artist's English Names-Just What Do They Really Mean?

Ever met anyone who had to pick a name for their baby? If you have, they would probably tell you its one of the hardest thing to do. Some in my had to and I found out that almost every baby nursery/hospital has a book for new parents to pick their baby's name, but most people nowadays make up weird names so their baby would be unique. By the way, some of the English names I hear of on TVB Dramas are ridiculous, for exmaple-Candy, Sugar, Apple, ... Seriously, who would name their baby that? Well, Gweneth Paltrow named her baby Apple, but lets hope nobody named their kid Sugar (From VOH II).

The topic of names spark my interest to find out what some of TVB star's names really mean. With the help of http://www.babynamesworld.com I looked up alot of artist's names. I also added some commentaries on stuff like whether the name really fits the star or just basic opinion of the name. I Came Down With A Little Illness. Nothing serious, just Daniel Wu fever. After working all week, my friend invited me to her party and I ended staying at her house. I helped her cleaned and she insisted that I watched a Daniel Wu film. I was reluctant at first because I wasn't really a Daniel Wu fan, for some reason he always rubbed me off as a playboy that's a little cocky. But after seeing his acting I was very impress, he is extremely skilled actor. After reading his blog, I also found out he's pretty down to earth also. After this, I think I will watch Naked Weapon and Enter The Phoenix, and maybe The Banquet because it has Daniel+Huang Xiao Ming. Did anyone see The Heavenly Kings? How is it?

ALIVE Not Dead. I Highly recommend you guys visit this site called Alive Not Dead, it was started initially as just an official site for the band Alive, but I discovered its really an interesting site that hosts several artists and their Blog & Photos. Blogs from some notable people like Andrew Lin, Daniel Wu, Jet Li, Rapper-Jin, Josie Ho, International Actress-Kelly Hu, Supermodel Lisa S. & Rosemary, Terrence Yin, and many more. I would describe the site format to be like a celeb myspace with stars that mostly appeal to younger generations.

I found that Aimee Chan's site blog to be most interesting. She's Miss Hong Kong 2006. On the site she posts personal pictures and expresses herself freely, really being herself. This Year's Miss Hong Kong: Ehhh... This year's Miss Hong Kong contestants didn't live up to its hype. This year is Hong Kong 10th anniversary return to China and the promotion this year was really big but it only yielded a couple good contestants. I found the Top Four Contender to be:

No. 7-Loretta Chow (5'9): She's the Flora Chan look alike mention in the news I believe. I think she's the best out of the group. (Left)

No. 2-Lily Ho (5'5): She's the Gigi Lai lok alike that is getting alot of hype in the news. I find that she looks nothing like Gigi Lai. However, with all this attention on her, she's pretty much guaranteed a contract with TVB and she will be this year's Suki Chui. (Right)

No. 12-Nicole Lee (5'5): I think she has good potential, she's pretty. I like her because she's the only one that put Internet as a hobby which is one of mine. (Left)

No. 8-Janis Leung (5'4): She has potential, she stands out from the group because she's exude sex appeal in her eyes without it being trashy as appose to the 'cute' pictures from the other girls. (Right)

Refreshing, is the feeling you get when you experience something new that you like. Well, with TVB you only get this feeling once in a while. Actors who are with TVB are often time used in series repeatedly, if you like them its definitely a good thing, but it wouldn't hurt see some new faces. However, most often time the new faces are newbies with small roles, so I've turn to watching outside source dramas for some fresh faces.

Actually, I didnt really purposely watch them for new faces, but it was nice discover this hunks. Before I announce the Top Three, I would like to say some notable mentions are Chen Kun, Gabriel Harrison, & Hu Ge. Also, I think important to note that although new faces are refeshing I will still always support my favorite TVB actors.

Daniel Henney: I heard about him for quite sometime before I even saw him in anything, but after I saw him in Seducing Mr. Robinson (Seducing Mr. Perfect) I knew what all the crazed was about. He's a dream! Daniel is mixed. His mom is Korean & his dad is Caucasian. I think he's really handsome, and he is what is known as what we call "Man Pretty". I also love the fact that he is really tall, but not too tall. He used to be model in Taiwan & Hong Kong. He's from the U.S. and speaks little of his native language like some of us. Most of his movies and dramas are of him speaking English. He's really become one of my new favorite eye candies.

William Feng Shao Feng: From Daniel Henney to the "Shanghai Daniel Wu". Alot of you guys may know Feng Shao Feng (formerly known as Feng Wei) as Prince You in last year's Co-Production The Conquest. I first saw him on SehSeh's Blog and it sparked my interest in watching The Conquest. I loved his character and I became a fan of him. He's very handsome with great bone structure perfect to be a model. I saw alot interview clips of him and I think he has a great sense of humor as well. I'm looking forward to seeing him soon in The Drive of Life. He is currently being linked with Myolie Wu, which I think is awsome. He's perfect for her, I was getting so sick of rumors of her fighting over Bosco with Fala like she's desperate for a boyfriend, Bosco isn't even all that.

Huang Xiao Ming: I first saw him in The Saviour of the Soul also known Return of the Condor Hero 2006. I fell in love with him. He is just amazing. He's sharp, suave, and handsome. His face is so unique, his features are just so distinctive. His piercing stare is haunting. Plus, saying his name is fun because it just rolls off the tongue. His popularity in Hong Kong is quite high after TVB aired ROCH 2006 last year. TVB has bought the right to air the Mainland version of Duke of Mount Deer with him in it but so far no confirmed date to when it will be aired, but I'm actually looking forward to it.

Hiatus Because of Computer Problem

My computer officially wouldn't turn on the other day. I dropped it off at the local repair shop for them to take a look at it. They said it would take between 3-5 business days. I really don't have any form of internet access right now, I writting this message on the computer at Starbucks, so until then I guess I'll be on a hiatus. Sorry :(

Just a short & little TVB sidenote before I go, Devil's Disciple might not air after all in July. TVB might be airing the Mainland version of Duke of Mount Deer starring Huang Xiao Ming [Wong Hiu Ming] (I think he's so HOT!), he's the actor that played the Condor Hero in last year's ROCH 2006 that recieved really high ratings in Hong Kong and made him really popular in HK. I heard about TVB's plan to air it since last year, but they never really officially set up a day for it. If it airs then it would mean about 2 more warehouse series will be release overseas because its a large scale production with many episodes.

HELP! & Random Blogging

PLEASE HELP! The reason I haven't been online the last few days is because my computer won't turn on. However, at the back of my CPU there's a switch like a light switch on the Power Supply, once I turn it off and then back on a couple time it turns back on. If there is any computer genius reading please me know what to do. Is it a sign that it damage other parts or it will crash soon? Just leave a comment under this post, any advice will be greatly appreciated. Just a heads up, if I don't log on for a very long time, its likely my computer crashed.

Now On To The TVB Stuff...

Upcoming Series: After The Family Link will be the new series with Sunny Chan, Christine Ng, & Suki Chui (As second female lead, OMG, that's crazy, she's being promoted so much). And after that will be Devil's Disciple. TVB made a last minute change, yanking it from the Payvision Channel because Producer Lau Kar Ho's Heart of Greed did so well.

After that, there's a big possibility The Seventh Day will air. I was reading some chat session at Kevin's official site, and it was said that TSD is taking so long to air because Niki Chow is frozen by her company Sony BMA for lying to her boss thus TVB didn't air it because Niki wouldn't be able to attend any functions. But others said it was made up by reporters. I dont know about you guys, but I'm a little "Bosco-Out" right now, he's like in every series and the overexposure is getting daft.

Heart of Greed: A very good series. I'm joining the bandwagon of people who are changing their opinion about Linda Chung. Great improvements in this series. Fala Chen actually isn't that bad, kinda good for a newbie. Lai Lok Yi showed improvements too. Moses is good as always. The veterans are amazing. I feel so sorry for Yoyo, her character totally made people dislike her. I think Bosco's acting is very stiff in HOG, he has lack of expressions. I thought it was just but after visting alot of sites turns out the majority of people also think that. I'm not completely done with the series, but so far so good.

Stephen Huynh In WOIL II: The costume fitting for it should be today, we will see the full cast and their images onscreen. The female cast is very big from recent reports, Liza Wang, Myolie Wu, Joyce Tang, Nancy Wu, ... But the male cast is very empty, only Bosco was officially announce. I'm sure Shek Sau will be a part of it. Finally another male cast member was announce, Stephen Huynh, another potential love for Myolie. Like alot of other people I'm looking forward to their chemistry more, that would be a very fresh & interesting couple.

TVB's Version of Prison Break: We don't know much about it yet. So far only the Main Cast have been announce. Roger Kwok, Kevin Cheng, & Yoyo Mung are confirmed. It will be a modern mystery/suspense drama similar but not completely like the original Prison Break. Kevin will play the prisoner.

What is it about Stephen Huynh that I find him so hot lately. He's like one of my new favorites now. I find him very 'attractive'. I guess its the combination of his Suave attitude, French accent, & Ruggedness. His tattoo also makes him very appealing.

One thing is for sure, he's got one fine body on him. Not too muscular, but just right. I love that he has that deep cut muscle on each side of the waist just like Usher. He's the new face of Mence Beauty Center for men. You should see the picture of him TVB used to promote this year's Mr. Hong Kong. His arms are... WOW. His hands are big too, you know what they about men with big hands...... Big gloves lol. I'm glad TVB is promoting him, I would love to see more of him.

2007-The Year When Asian Women Dominated The Miss Universe Arena

The Miss Universe Pageant 2007 was held last night in Mexico City and was broadcasted in the U.S. This year Asian women completely dominated the pageant. Last year wasn't a bad year either, Miss Japan won 1st Runners Up & Miss Phillipines won Miss Photogenic. This year Miss japan was up against Miss Brazil for the title, Miss Brazil look a bit masculine and draggish so Miss Japan won. Miss Korea also won the Face of the Universe award & Miss Universe by International pageantry site-Global Beauties. I didn't like Miss USA from the start, she was so cocky, she came on Oprah and declared herself the winner of the Miss Universe pageant. And this time she gave the exact same answer as she did from the Miss USA competition talking about Oprah & her school in South Africa.This is like a big story now, and alot of talk shows are talking about it.

Hi Everyone! I finally had time to complete this post with the final 5 fa dan I had plan to feature. I would like to say, I did not based everything on them looking alike, because its not a look alike contest or a beauty contest. I took alot of other aspects into consideration. Feel free to disagree, its only my opinion, you are free to express yourself.

Selena Li-Successor For... Esther Kwan: Esther's acting is warm and personable, and offscreen you can tell she is very sweet with a gentle yet good sense of humor. I find that Selena Li bares these traits that distinguish her as Esther's successor. Out of all the new generation actresses I see the most potential in Selena. That is why I pick Selena as Esther's successor.

Linda Chung-Successor For Kenix Kwok: I have a feeling people will disagree with me on this because recently there have so many negative comments about Linda just because she's overpromoted. I didn't base this one on promotion. I pick as Linda as Kenix's succesor because I have taken notice of Linda's acting. Most young actresses her age are still not very comfortable onscreen, but I see that Linda has gain so much more confidence with her acting. She is charismatic like a young Kenix Kwok who acts with confidence in herself & her acting. That's why I pick Linda as Kenix's successor.

Bernice Liu-Succesor For... Flora Chan: The newspaper article, Selena was pick as Flora's successor, but I disagree because Selena's personality is very eastern. Flora was originally a reporter for TVB Pearl, the english channel in Hong Kong, afterwards she made her transition to acting in TVB series. She face some problems with the language barier just like Bernice did. Out of the original Fa Dan Flora was the most 'western' because of her personality is very westernize because she was raised in the US. Bernice out of all the new generation actresses has the most 'westernize' personality and she expresses her exactly as that is. That's why I pick Bernice as Flora's successor.

Niki Chow-Successor For... Gigi Lai: Going through the comments, I could tell people were anticipating the one, because its true, Gigi is very hard to find successor for. I know Gigi has this reputation for being the "beautiful goddess" and I had to pick someone that did her justice. Don't worry I didn't pick Fala, it seems like people weren't happy about that name for Gigi. Instead, I pick Niki Chow, a exremely beautiful girl in her own rights. She's Kathy Chow
sister who is one of Hong Kong's Top Supermodels. Niki is also known for being very sweet, elogant, and eloquent. I also think she a presence of a true leading lady similar to Gigi's. I find her a very worthy successor for Gigi.

Leila Tong-Successor For... Charmaine Sheh: Charmaine is known for being the "Sweet Talker" which basicly means she's friendly and congenial with her words. A true sweet talker like Charmaine can sell Ice to an Eskimo or even Fire to the Devil. When I hear the word "Sweet Talker" I think of Leila Tong who is just a very congenial girl with a sweet personality. Her popularity is constantly climbing so I'm confident that Leila will be Charmaine's successor.

Natalie Tong-Successor for... Jessica Hsuan: Jessica Hsuan got her start on K-100 and she became one of the most successful actress to have came from the program. Natalie Tong is the last heir to "K-100 Host/Actress" title since the program ended a couple years back. I believe Natalie is the successor to Jessica's Fa Dan title because they came from the beginning and Natalie has shown great potential in her acting. With time and dedication Natalie will be able become the official successor to Jessica's Fa Dan title. I know Natalie isn't quite as pretty as Jessica but its not a beauty contest. Like all others have said Michelle Ye would have been her successor but she has left TVB and made quite a name for herself.

Myolie Wu-Successor For Marianne Chan Miu Ying: Marianne Chan is the only Fa Dan out of the original seven who has officially retired from acting and headed into the business world. Marianne was one of my favorite actress during her era in which she was still acting. Her acting skills are amazing. Myolie is a Fa Dan now in her own rights, she competed against Fa Dans like Charmaine Sheh, Gigi Lai, and Ada Choi last year for the Best Actress title so it wouldn't be appropriate to say she is a successor for any Fa Dans who are still acting. However, Myolie is perfect to takeover the title for Marianne since she is reminiscent of Marianne in the way acts onscreen, very natural & eloquent. Besides that she also resembles her at angles.

Sharon Chan-Successor For... Ada Choi: In the news article Vivien Yeo was was chosen as Ada's successor. Although I like Vivien, I don't think I've seen enough of her to say she is succesor for Ada. I think they just based it on the fact that Vivien is tall. If tall is what they're looking for, Sharon is the woman for you. With a tall and slender body just like Ada is famous for Sharon has one aspect down. Recently, I've noticed that Sharon's acting has vastly improved and she is showing great potential. With her acting skills in place, Sharon in my opinion is ready for development into the next Ada Choi and become her rightful sucessor.

While I was catching up with the news I found a very interesting read, an article Em translated about TVB fighting ATV with their plans of developing a group of new young Fa Dans. Some of the name that was brought up I was like "What?" Suki Chui? She didn't even have 1 single series that aired yet, but they're calling her the Successor for Charmaine Sheh?

I decide to do my version where I will name the successor for the original fa dans & the two most talked about fa dans now at TVB, Charmaine Sheh & Gigi Lai.

I'll completely the post slowly because you can imagine its going be long. I plan to feature actresses like Leila Tong, Myolie Wu, Selena Li, ... as successors for the original 7 fa dans (Maggie Cheung, Jessica Hsuan, Kenix Kwok, Esther Kwan, Marianne Chan, Flora Chan, Ada Choi) and Charmaine & Gigi. Here' s a small first part to start it off. I'll be happy to hear your suggestions.

Tavia Yeung-Successor For... Maggie Cheung Ho Yee: Whether you like Maggie or not you must admit her acting is top notch. She gets into character and gives natural performance with great charisma onscreen. I find one actress to have that flare which resembles the acting of a young Maggie Cheung. She is Tavia Yeung. Tavia's acting is really good & she keeps on improving yet TVB doesn't give as much chances as other actresses. For quite some time people were saying that Maggie & Tavia look extremely alike (Tavia was handpicked to play Maggie's sister in The Awakening Story) which was also part of the reason I chose her because I believe Tavia shouldn't be known as a Maggie Cheung look alike but as Maggie's deserving successor to her Fa Dan title.

Sorry For The Hiatus

Hi Everyone. Yes, I'm still alive. I feel extremely bad for leaving the blog updated for some long, but there's been so much going on my life. After my taking my AP exams & immediately had to take off on a college visit. I just returned yesterday, and I'm just disoriented. Please allow me sometime to get my act together. I'll do my best to slowly update the blog tomorrow. I'm very sorry! Hope everyone understands.

I just finish catching up with things happening around the TVB world. In the news I found some of the stuff an interesting read. Alot has happen in the last week. Of those, I found these buzzworthy.

TVB Ratings Slump: What is up with the ratings. Heart of Greed in the past 3 weeks ratings has recieved an average rating of 29. The cast has about three times the star power of an average TVB series, but why the low ratings? I've seen the first two episodes 2 weeks ago, it seems very comedic & somewhat light hearted, maybe it will get dramatic later. Some say its boring & they gave up on it, and some say its pretty interesting. I'm telling you, that 9:35 time slot is a killer. A Change of Destiny is also recieing 29, havent seen any of it so cant much.

Maggie Cheung Ho Yee's Return: She's finally recovered from her thyroid illness. her acting is terrific so I'm looking forward to her return. She still has a contract with TVB so a TVB series might be her first project. Afterall, she bail out on TVB in Au Revoir Shanghai. Rumours are circulating in forums & shoutboxes that she will be in a TVB series with Kevin Cheng in late June and its the earliest possible time for return. Well, I have to say this very well could be true because Kevin is scheduled to return to TVB to start filimg a new series in June after taking May off.

Melissa Ng's Pregnancy: Rumours flew when she turned down the role in Slicing of the Demon because she was mad at TVB for not giving her a nomination for Best Actress & not valuing her. Turns out she's just pregnant that's all. She's apparently married for years now, I applaude her for keep this secret for so long. I dont know how she did it. Congratz to Melissa.

Miss Hong Kong kicks off: Pageant season is kicking off once again. And this year its the 10th Anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China so I think it will be very grand this year. I'm very into pageantry so I'm definitely looking forward to it. I saw some of the early pics of the contestants. Personal Blog: If Only Life Was Like A TVB Love Story

Sometimes life can be hard on you, and it can be easy on you. And just when you think you have it all figured out it shows you that you have no idea.

If only life was easy, and simple as a TVB love story.

If so, then...
You would start your day with a lovely themesong,
Run into the love of your life on your way to work,
Have great time at work with some of your best friends,
On your way home it rains but your handsome love suddenly comes to your aid with an umbrella,
Come home to a warm family living in Harmony.
Of course run into small problems that resolves itself within 3 episodes,
The only problem in your love life is two amazing guys are fighting over you,
Have something amazing happens that change the course of your for the better,
You in the end choosing the right guy and get engaged,
Have a happy ending with the man of your dream.

Sadly, not all TVB love stories are like this so the chance that your life will be like this are slim. As a matter of fact TVB made a series that refelcted my current sentiments called Slim Chances. I think if time permits I would like to rewatch it because I think I would really appreciate it now.

Since there is no website where you can get your "Life" episode summary I guess I'm offf on my own.

Haven't been online for the last couple of days because of the usual so I'm catching up on things. I'm very sorry that I couldn't update, hope you understand.

Top O.L. Killers Last Year CoMpLeTeD

O.L. stands for "Office Ladies". In Hong Kong Office Ladies make up a large portion of the demographic. They are the ones usually working the 9 to 5 jobs, coming home and watching TV at night. They are also the ones who buy entertainment magazines to read at work, and most often they are the ones who vote for popularity awards like The Next Magazine TV Popularity Awards so its crucial to become popular among them.

An OL "Killer" is an actor who basicly have the gain the admiration of these Office Ladies based on their appeal. For example, actors like Ron Ng and Bosco Wong are NOT considered OL Killers because they are too young looking, and do not have the rugged mature men appeal yet.

So who were the top OL Killers of 2006?

Raymond Lam: The older women-younger man have always been considered semi-taboo in any society but the asian society more than any. Raymond gave them a little taste of the quote unquote forbidden fruit. Raymond's character in La Femme Desperado showed a great appreciation for older women openly pursuing Melissa Ng declaring his love, he also had focus on his career. All the business attire also made him look older & more mature. This appealed the OLs leading some newspapers tro call him an OL Killer.

Kevin Cheng: Under The Canopy of Love was a series that revolved around the workplace. There were several OLs in the series, and Kevin played a businessman. He gave them a bit of the "what if" fantasy. What do I mean? Here: "What if a man like him was actually walking around the office?" Through out the series he was dress in very sharp business attire looking very dashing thus adding to the apppeal. His character also ended up being very successful, and women a man who is successful in his love life & career.

Michael Tse: Another character from La Femme Desperado & another businessman. OLs probably considered him an OL Killer because his character was successful and he loves children. But the key part is women ABSOLUTELY LOVE to think that they can change a man. They always have it stuck on the mind set that they can shape & mold their man to become the man of their dream & all women's dreams. Michael's character was a changed man, he went from a cheating husband to a devoted father & spouse, all change by one woman, Sheren Tang. Sadly, in real life men don't change that easily. I'm a firm believer of "Once a cheater, Always a cheater."

Frankie Lam: After FH, Frankie was label an OL Killer, but its nothing new. He's always been an OL Killer. He was one of the top OL killer of the 90's. He attract OLs because his character in FH was very charming and sweet. He was also dressed in classic "OL Killer attire", looking sharp in a business suit. Besides all the onscreen aspect, he is also known for being a very good husband. His public relationship with wife Kenix Kwok gave OLs a very good image of him.

Moses Chan: Moses Chan has a great personality that shines onscreen, and his mature look is definitely appealing to OLs. Although all his series last year were all ancient, he managed to still win over the OLs of the modern day. His image is also very good, he presents himself very well when he is ask about rumoured girlfriends.

Kenny Wong: This one is a no brainer. Kenny Wong was flaunting his body in 80% of his screentime in The Dance of Passion. He followed that up with a billion shirtless pictures from the press taken of him at public promotion events. I think its safe to say that OLs are on the average are 30-40 years old, so it would be weird for them to look at young teenage looking stars shirtless. However, men roughly their age like Kenny serve as eye candy.
Final Remarks & Commentary: I think the reason people online as a whole view the younger generation artistes as being the most popular, but in reality people in Hong Kong like the OLs dominate in terms of determining who is popular. TVB artistes who become singers might want to target this demographic, because they are the ones working and making money & buying the CDs. Teenagers these days do not buy CDs anymore, they DOWNLOAD, illegally that is. It sad to say I've done it before and I'm sure almost every here has done too.
Anyways, the OL Killer breed will always live on. Over the past few years I'm sure you all have heard of The Legendary OL Killers who's popularity ran rampid in the 90's & early 2000's. Actors like Chilam Cheung, Felix Wong, Deric Wan, Simon Yam, William So, Gallen Lo, Alex Fong Chung Sun, Louis Koo, and the list goes on. I'm keeping my eyes out for other potential OL Killer Hall of Famer.
By the way, I consider myself somewhat of an OL. I'm very attracted to the more mature looking actors because I'm 18 now soon to be in college. If I go crazy over guys like Bosco who attract like mostly 13 year old girls, its just seems silly to me because it makes me feel like I'm one of the young teeny bopper fanatic who are in middle school & meet after everday after school to chat about their idols.

Random Blogging

I'm sorry for not updating. I've been so busy with school, work, and some personal problems. I'll try my best to get back on track with the site. For now-some random blogging.

Did Anyone Else Notice: I took me almost 2 months to finish the Brink of Law, not because it wasn't good, but I didn't have time. The series overall was very good, I really love the ending. The writers did a really good job bringing it to an end.

But one thing really bother me. The relationship between Stephen Wong Ka Lok & Shirley Yeung in the series. They got married when THEY ARE COUSINS! Stephen's character's mom played by Michelle Yim is the older blood sister to Shirley's dad. I know that the series all they ever did was kiss, but it is a bit strange. I kinda felt like the series was promoting incest which I found a little repulsive.

I've seen series set in ancient times when cousins married each other but most often they are cousins who are related only by marriage or one was adopted. But I never expected a series which is set in the 2000's to have such a weird pairing. Did I miss something? Anyone care to explain, because I just don't get it. The last time I checked incest was illegal in Hong Kong.

How Tall Will You Be??? I know after my height posts I might of spark some curiosity for people to know how tall they will be. Here is a website I found that has growth calculator which predicts how tall you will be when you are an adult based on your parent's height, your gender, and your weight. Keep in mind that genetics determines about only half of what your height will be so these numbers only serve as a basis. Your enviroment affects the other half with stuff like nutrition & wellness.
